View Full Version : Idea for raids similar to PvP rewards.

<DIV>Now I dont personally play PvP but my understanding is you get "points" of some sort by killing other players. You can then use these points to buy items of various types and quality. For us raiders we get status points which buy us basicly nothing. Why not add something into the game using status points that are recieved only from named raid mobs where we can buy items just like PvP players. This would be helpful to those people that kill a particular raid mob 30-40 times and never see one of his "rare" drops. Examples of items that are rare for some and very common for others are doomrage spaulders, band of cause, ascendent, greaves of the codex, etc.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Maybe for example everytime you kill Tarinax you get +1 tarinax point. Then on some vendor somewhere put all tarinax items up for sale and they cost anywhere from 5-20 tarinax points and some plat and/or status.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>This is just an example which Im sure would need to be tweaked some to work but I think its a good idea.</DIV>

nice idea, though there are some problems:at first: after 10 kills of tarinax u get twice the loot and everybody will have those strange draconix pants and so on.....i wouldn't really look fwd to kill tarinax for the loot cause i know: everyone has those legs(i know, bad example for mages but who cares) nothing special anymorepoint 2: most pplt claim that every n00b-raider has the best equipment....in case some guy sticks the best raidcoms/guilds on server and collects those kill points.....he's still lame, but got those legs....know what i mean....nice idea, but there should be something special except the loottable of the raidmobs<div></div>

Would overwhelm the game with more fabled so there would have to be something in its place. Maybe whatever guild the raid leader is in would get 1 tarinax point and the guild could spend points to buy items for 1 guild member. So everyone 5-10 kills there would be only 1 more item per guild. I dunno but Im sure there could be some way to work it out.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Also as far as every noob having the items well they already do. For example every single warrior on my server that has killed the eyeball just before Vyemm has the doomrage spaulders. My guild has seen 0. Every noob guild has tons of band of the cause yet my guild has seen 2 and one of those was last night. You also have to be able to kill the mob to obtain the item. You cant just spend any raid points you get from any mob for any other mob.</DIV><p>Message Edited by Kriddle Kraddle on <span class=date_text>09-07-2006</span> <span class=time_text>05:44 PM</span>

<div></div>I think its a great idea. Some of the items over there are more powerful than stuff you see here off the hardest encounters, but they could just cost a -ton- of points and I wouldn't care to see someone have them. Most raid guilds can kill 90% of the content in this game anyways.I would like to add I posted about this idea, like, 6 months ago. So good luck.<div></div><p>Message Edited by snarkteeth on <span class=date_text>09-07-2006</span> <span class=time_text>05:52 PM</span>

<P>I vote yes, itemization has gone downhill since Ruins of Varsoon.  Since 95% of the game is instanced when it comes to raiding we end up killing the same stuff over and over and there are indeed a bunch of rare items that some guilds never see.  It'd be nice to get some of those PVP loot tables on the PVE servers ... seperate personal status and raid status.  Since raiders are only 4% of the population though I doubt they will spend weeks of their time trying to accomodate.</P> <P> </P> <P>I just wanna see loot that has effects similiar to what you can find off of level 27 grey heroic mobs that you can kill 100x a day ... is that too much to ask for from the hardest mobs in the game?  I mean ... MO and Chel'drak loot has FT7.  So does Ring of the Nightblood ... so does wristplate of the rancid, and consider the difficulty between the 2 ... I think we deserve more than just increased HP/Power or stats.</P>

<DIV>I would like to see the items on PvP servers become player craftable on PvE servers.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Maybe make it so you can spend points that are awarded VERY slowly (like it will take weeks of hardcore raiding to get enough to buy one item) on an item similar to the T5 crafted fabled gear. In order for these items to be made, the crafter himself needs to spend a ton of personial status (i am thinking like 1.5 million for fabled, maybe add some legandary stuff in that doesnt require raiding at 750,000 status) to make each item. That way, even if you are able to get piles of these items from raids (which will prolly happen in some cases) you still need to find a crafter of the appropriate type with status to burn in order to make it. That may also make it so noob raiders will be able to get one or two of these, but will find it hard due to ststus costs.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Just a thought...</DIV>

<div>i dunno, but everytime i see how good the items pvp can get for ganking level 62's in sos i wonder why they keep using pvp as the crutch/exuse for not killing stuff....</div>

Last time I checked epic named give status points, which can be used to purchase items of various types and quality.... sounds like that your idea has been in the game for over a year already to me.(Of course it would be nice to have a few more combat-useful status rewards... like faction rewarded spells or somesuch)<div></div>

nice idea but it would need to have a raid status only counter and have it start at 0. Status should come really slow and only from clearing the whole zone not just from killing a named. contested should be included in the status.Just my thought

<DIV>This is a great idea -- and could have been implemented long ago as part of the fabled tskill component drops.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>You need 15 cheldrak scales to make a cheldrak BP, 10 to make leggings, etc, etc.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Make em tradable/stackable so the guild bank can store em and distribute them as they see fit when they get enough.</DIV>

Well if you are comparing this to PvP rewards then maybe these points should only come from contesteds where you actually have to compete with other players to get them. This limits the total number of points that can enter the world at any time.
