<DIV>Hi,</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>i don't know if anyone has noticed it, but droprates (of legendary or master chests) in Group-Instances</DIV> <DIV>got nerfed to hell.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><FONT color=#ff0000>First</FONT>, in the Halls of Fate. I had a guild group go into HoF today and snag 4 masters and 2 legendary. Sometimes you are lucky sometimes you aren't. As for it being nerfed? I think it should be, why should people get a master chest every hour, or 2-3 as you think you should be getting a few in 2-3 hours of work? Master chests drop like candy anyway, I probably pick up three or four masters a week in about 3-4 hours of "work" and by work i mean, checking on the named in Bonemire while I wait for my call to come up after a round of writs.Risk vs Reward sure - Nizara is probably the ONLY group zone that is itemized nicely IMO. VERY VERY Good drops, and they are rare, makes you want to go back, and it doesn't feel like you are always farming it. I think there is too many trash mobs, and no where close to being hard anymore (no wipes last few times through, but thats beside the point). Nek3 should drop a few masters? its 2-4 names in the zone, takes me about 30 mins to clear with a full group, I can trio it boxing a healer and with any type of person who can hold aggro for a few seconds. Takes me about 45 mins to trio the zone. Worth a master for the risk vs reward - no. Masters dropped to common in this expansion, and now everyone gets upset when they don't see the chests. Am I the only one that remembers playing back in Tier 5 when I saw 2 master chests leveling from 1-50 before I started raiding?Or even in Desert of Flames, I saw maybe 4 Master chests leveling 50-60 (not counting PP gauranteed "master" drop there which was no trade scout trash). I hope EoF is no where close to having so many masters drop, I would love to see Masters rare again. And if its taking you 5 hours to clear Nizara...you need to get some DPS in your group or not take 10 minute AFKs between every fight. Takes 3 hours to clear tops, but you can cut down your time even more by skipping a lot of trash in that zone.</div>

<DIV>Hi Octillius,</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>i didn't want a master every hour, that would be... uhm...</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>But i thougt not a single Master from 2-3 hours HoF or 4-5 hours Nizara seemed ridiculous to me.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Not everyone clears Nizara in 3 hours, that's what i meant with you need a good group with</DIV> <DIV>good gear. It's not like taking a pickup group and rushing through the mobs while watching</DIV> <DIV>Stargate on TV like you could do it in HoF...</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Oh well, maybe it's just bad luck i guess. I just got frustrated after the last Nizara run and</DIV> <DIV>wanted to share it a little bit, lessens the weight on my shoulders <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I'll cross my fingers to get a little more luck next time <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Thanks, theriatis.</DIV>

In my last 5 HoF runs only one master droped. One of these runs was even a wooden one: not a single metal chest. In the other runs we got 1-2 legendary chests. Somehow the plate boots / arms drop there only if I play my defiler and not my zerker. I know the RNG hates you sometimes. Hopefully in my next run I will see more metal chests.<div></div>

<DIV>I also feel there was a stealth nerf To go from 2 masters a run Nek to getting none in 3 runs makes me feel that it has been nerfed.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> blah blah blah its random blah blah just unlucky there i just saved you a post <img src="/smilies/283a16da79f3aa23fe1025c96295f04f.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV>

Personally, random or not. The drop rates of Masters has exceding anything remotely close to the need. I find it completely hysterical. Master chests are suppose to be rare with good items. I am always found agast when i hear of a master dropping from a random mob. Although, i do think it is cool. The reason i think it is cool is because it is like you just conquered the world. My feelings on how it should be. You kill a mob. Named, semi-boss, or boss. and you see a metal chest drop. your group starts woohooing and gratzing in gourp chat. How it is right now. You kill a mob. Named, semi-boss or boss and you see anything but a a metal chest drop. Your group starts booing, [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn]ing, and complaining. Rants get started on the forums about nerfed dropped rates.I would love to see the day were it was something special to get a big chest with some sweet loot in it. and not these days were they seem to drop like leaves in the fall, and when they don't We whine, "Where's my phat loot?"<div></div>

<P>I'm staying out of the argument if master chests should be more or less rare. The poor horse has been dead for a long time.</P> <P>I'd just like to add an observation on the M1 droprate in the PP group instance; Eight runs in a row without one.</P> <P>I'm not saying i know they lowered the droprate of M1's in non-epic zones but i'm definitely starting to get suspicious.</P>

oh lol, "all random" yeah right!:smileyvery-happy: That's the way soe has always run the games. Good drops at the beginning, then once some percent reaches top..the carrot moves far away. Keep jumping, you'll reach that carrot! And the highest lvls who had it easy with pre- LUs "combat revamps" say..it's all random! lol !!

<P>HoF when it came out i rememeber seeing one master (the 2H sword), and alot of legendary (how many ebony bat wings does one group need???)... i've seen more masters drop in SoS and PoA off trash than i care to think of (looted icenova and decap in the same day there a week or so ago)...</P> <P>why does a 1 group instance or dungon even need to drop more than the occasional master???</P> <P>but its all RNG... couple weeks ago, cleared labs, not a single relic item, next week we got like 9, and this week we got 2 (yay for equiping ppls lvl 50 alts)... HoF i don't do unless i'm really bored or someone needs an update, the nerfed version is just boring to me...</P>

<div></div>Think of it this way; you put in 3 hours of work for 6 people. I say you should at least get a legendary for 6 people each of them doing 3 hours of work. A legendary sells for 20 gold to merchant approx. and 3 pp to players approx.Come on, even if you get a master chest 20% of the time that you run the instance, it's still meager loot. People need to gear up. Most good gear is no-trade in the group-zones, so the profit you can make out of it is meager if you "farm" this. I mean, Nizara...it's a hard zone, I have to agree that risk vs. reward sucks over there. I'd only go to get a challenge and waste my money on repairs. And EQ does lower the drop rates a few days/weeks after a zone is released, because people get hooked on all the gear that drops, get the knowledge of what drops from what and even if the drop rate is decreased, people still want certain items in there and will go in to get whatever they are looking for; therefore, creating a brand new timesink!I always wonder who is a raider and who isnt, then I look at the comments and I know. Funny ain't it?<div></div><p>Message Edited by Sethir on <span class=date_text>09-02-2006</span> <span class=time_text>09:10 AM</span>

I think I saw my first master chest in my low 30s, chomper dropped it. Next I saw was in Nek doing a heritage quest. Didn't raid T5 content until mid 50s, that was when I saw my next one. Saw one in roost during DoF. Wasn't until I started raiding T7 that I started to see master chests drop. And I would say this, they drop too frequently in T7 raid zones EXCEPT for the fact that SOEs "random" loot generator sucks so badly that chest need to drop like candy in order to have any chance at loot variation. Our last 9 relic plate drops have been 3 chest, 1 helmet and 5 gussets. We've seen 1 set of legs, 1 boot, 1 gloves and 0 shoulders in four months of raiding labs EVERY weekend. And that 9 referenced earlier is what has dropped in the last month, one raid we got 3 gussets... on the same instance. COME ON!Its gotten so bad that our guild loot rules regarding recruits are practically scrapped, especially for plate classes. A good 80% of loot seems to get passed on by mains and given to inelligible recruits. I'd rather see them get it than have it vendored for crap, but I'd also like to see our mains have a chance to gear up.<div></div>

Before DoF leveling from 1-42 I saw TWO master chests, one as a solo drop in harclave and one as a drop in Runnyeye. From 1-42 on my Inquisitor I have seen so many masters I have lost count, I almost always see one master per group. Back before DoF, I would run Icespire Summit and Menagerie almost every day with a few friends for about two weeks and I saw ONE master come out of Icespire and none from Menagerie (My friends were 50, I hit 42 a week or so before DoF came out and I level slowly). In splitpaw arena after the same ammount of runs we had about 7 master books drop, just shows how much the devs have upped the rates in the adventure packs and expansions. Now people complain if they don't get a master for 3 hours for a heroic instance that can be easily trioed.</P> <P>In short, HoF is already dropping more than enough, it's an easy as hell zone, same with Nek3 as long as your group dosn't like to click glowies and you skip as much trash as possible. Nizara has some loot on par with HoF drops and some better than raid drops, it is good where it's at for what it's ment to be, a raid type experiance for top end heroic players and raiders.</P>
