I clicked on a thread that interested me to read it.. about a guys opinion on relic drops... when i looked at next post it was you locking it, saying..... You thought there was enough posts about the subject today .... and then you locked the thread. My question is, did it violate any board rules? Or what was the reason for locking it? IMO ( which I know I have no power or say lol ) it looks like when you locked the thread saying " YOU thougt there was enough posts on it for the day...... " That you were kind of being overly ... hmm how do i put it... censoring.... or unfair... etc.. can't find the right word..... Anyways, when people type stuff .. things can be left out and things taken the wrong way...... maybe you meant to say thread closed due to .... multiple threads or something ... Just saying it didn't sound fair, right, just etc from a person looking at the subject for the first time.. see you close it because it looked like you just didnt agree with the thead or something.

You really should send him a PM. This thread is just going to get locked and/or deleted, since it's also against the rules to make posts asking why posts were locked/deleted.

I agree that the topic was interesting. Figuring that the lockout timer on zones were increased recently the public should deserve to know why. Why is it ok for a guild to gear all of their members up in relic armor in just a few days and then allow them to repeatedly post about how unfair it is that other people are doing it? It seems like a trend though, spend little time fighting easy mobs until you have everything you want from them and then complain to make them harder before other guilds are able to take advantage of the easy version. It's really unfair that sony keeps upping the lockout timer to prevent farming relic this late into the expansion just because someone complains especially when that same someone got full relic armor themselves by doing exactly what they are complaining about in the first place.

I thought relic armor was supposed to be the medium for casual players, a way for us to gear up without having to have an uber raid force to kill epic names. If that is the case then why do you keep making it harder for us to farm it? Just because the hardcore raiders already have full relic and now they don't want everybody else to share in that glory? If I would have known 6 months ago that I could get full relic fabled in one day off solo mobs I would have quit the game. I'm a casual player and even I know that full fabled in one day off solo mobs = ruined loot progression and not just for the people doing it, but for all the people who didn't. This is just more proof that sony caters to the hardcore raiders. You let them have their way with all of the relic loot until they are good and finished and then you make it nearly impossible for the rest of the community to obtain.

The problem isn't the increased lockout timers. The problem is/was easy mobs dropping fabled loot, mobs that aren't formally trivialized by 24-person raids. In the light of that, you should regard the increased lockout timers as a belated, and largely impotent, attempt at curbing the unbalanced influx of cheaply bought fabled armor, not as a denial of fair opportunity to the average player.

Should it ever have been that easy to get relic drops? In my view, no, it shouldn't. Does that mean it should remain that easy just because other people have taken advantage of it in the past? Of course it shouldn't.

You make a mistake? You fix it once you realize what you have done. You certainly do not leave the mistake unaddressed, so it may cause even more problems.

In general, trash mobs dropping fabled items is a very bad idea. If you don't have to kill raid (sub-)boss mobs to get raid-level gear, then raid-level gear is gradually being devalued.

Don't get me wrong; I don't think fabled loot should be kept out of the hands of all non-raiders. In particular, I don't mind fabled items occasionally dropping in zones with a challenge level on par with that of Nizara. However, I most certainly do believe in restricting fabled items to raiders and non-raiders who are way above the norm.

In my opinion, a full, well-balanced group (i.e., one tank, two healers, three rest scouts or mages, all 70th) of very well-played characters decked out in full legendary with a combination of Masters and Adept III abilities should have a shot at getting fabled drops from zones like Nizara. If the players aren't very skilled, though, or aren't wearing legendary gear with high-quality abilities, I don't think they ought to get fabled drops.

I also believe there should be "heroic" zones too tough for groups in legendary armor. Such zones should also have a chance of fabled loot.

In general, I think there should be a clear upgrade path that you need to follow: hand-crafted -> treasured -> master-crafted -> legendary -> fabled. You shouldn't be able to skip ahead in that regard on a regular basis.

Unfortunately, due to the way raiding is set up, where only the main tank really needs cutting-edge gear for most content and the rest of the raid can muddle through with above average gear, you currently are able to skip ahead. That is another issue, though, which deserves its own thread.
