<DIV>Ah ya and for the servers that actually have multiple guilds going for contested we might as well work together and get each our own instance. SOE could also just try to fix the lag issue.

i consider myself a serious raider and that's why i support no instancing at all.

Better yet, maybe they should fix their network code so we don't have this kind of lag.In WoW, you can have 500 people in a zone and not have any issues with CA lag or anything. Here, as everyone knows, 60 people can kill performance. Heck, in instances, 2 guilds doing their own and it can go bad. I remember eye farming and only 2 guilds there and it was bad.Try doing Princes with 15 second lag where mobs and players all come to a screeching halt because there are 64 people in the zone (2 guilds at princes). CAs that take 10+ seconds to cast. It's just plain uncalled for.
I would love the the lag to be fixed in this game. 100people in a zone shouldnt give the zone nearly as much lag as it does now. Unfortunately that would require a major revamp on both the client and serverside applications. Which we will more then likely not see any time soon. <div></div>

<DIV>hmm well i'm the first serious raider that doesnt support it. Lol calling yourself bigtime in eq2 is a joke. Everyone can eventually get the same stuff within time, Hello instances. Your getting mulitple of the same items in a chest is just how it is deal with it. We all have seen good chest and bad ones. Yes if they can gurantee the contested will spawn in one zone only then i would support multiple zones. I'll say it again for servers that dont have multiple guilds that cant kill contested all your gonna do is benefit from it.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>A serious raider would want only 1 spawn of each contested each week and lock it down from the rest of the server, letting them know thats gear they will never get till you move on to the next tier. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

Having seperate instance means pretty much nothing at all with SoE. Ever been to DT while two other raids where in there as well - I had problems just getting 2 CAs for Double up yesterday, so bad was the lag! Same stuff applies to Labs or HoS - multiple raids at the same time and u got LAG fest ... SoE would need to sort that out at first, before instancing the common zones imho

Ssra definitely got "interesting" when you had one raid on Emp, one on AL and one on Cursed, especially if they were vertically over the top of each other so you'd get the fight spam from all of them. Don't even mention the issues in Plane of Fire where you'd pull a named and it would moonwalk all the way to you at a glacially slow speed and then not even get a swing off before it died.<img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />Dd</div>

Obviously the code is in major need to be totally overhauled. It's stupid to have lag so bad at Princes that we had constant burst of 15 second lag so bad that everything came to a halt, with only 65 people in the zone.If WoW can have network code that can support 300+ people in the same room without any issues, then surely SOE can.<p>Message Edited by Scortch on <span class=date_text>08-10-2006</span> <span class=time_text>03:17 PM</span>

So make the contested drop half as many items in their chest, problem solved. Sweet, now instead of killing (for example) the MO and getting 2 crappy robes and a master spell nobody needs, we can kill him and get 1 crappy robe and then go to bonemire2 and get a second crappy robe and a master spell nobody needs! But this way we at least got to do the fight twice and with less lag.

<P>ok I admit everyone wants lag gone, not just raiders</P> <P>doesnt make heroic-solo stuff unbeatable though, but once you have tried doing mutagenic or princes with 3-5 second delay on everything, you will know what we are talking about</P> <P>I for one do not care if they solve it with multiple instances of a zone (doesnt really look like a solution if you look at the lag you get when multiple guilds are doing lab, lyceum hos or dt at the same time) or any other way, but I also dont think its impossible to have multiple bonemires, with only the initial one having the possibility to spawn contesteds (probably noone checked but there used to be multiple instances of, cl, ant, ts and nek forest and these zones all got their contesteds, but i got no clue if those were up in the 1-2 extra instances)</P> <P>anyway, either the hardware sucks, or the code (or both), so something should be done about it</P> <P> </P>

What are you blabbering about Yeldarb?I'm just wondering if it's because they are combining servers and trying to run too much off one server (or whatever0? Like maybe ALL of KoS off one server or something.
