heya, my guild tried to take down Goreinare several times, so far, unsuccessfully.... after hours of researches for strategies to take him down, i couldnt find much so, i wanted to ask you fellow EQ2 raiders to help us out on how to take down Goreinare, which strategies are the best... i'd greatly appreciate it! the way we do, we have a conj pet pull him, then have the tank park him up against the wall, and fight him like how we fight other dragons, but the adds, the ice dervishes are the main reason of our wipes.... we've tried getting rid of pets, so not too many of those ices will spawn, but that didnt fare well.... if there's something we should know of, stating it will help us a lot =) have fun!! <div></div>

Gore has been nerfed so bad its not even funny. To combat the adds the easiest way, try using a tank with safefall/fd and having your healers watch their specialty heals.<div></div>

<div></div>Goreinare doesnt hit that hard so have your Monk's or Bruiser's tank it.We use 2 Monk's when we do it, When the first monk gets ported have him FD and have your second brawler get Goreinare asap.By the time the 2nd tank gets ported your first monk should be back down ready to get aggro - if he is not get any other plate tank to hold it till he is there, the ony reason you use a monk / bruiser for this is because they have safe fall and FD any other tank will die when they jump back down after they get ported.Dont know if it helps but a few weeks ago when I last did Ascent, when the first monk got ported Goreinare didnt follow him up top It made it alot easier, May have been a bug but i'm not sure as I havent been back there since.Good Luck <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /><div></div>

We are having the same problem. We've heard from several people who have completed it, and all pretty much have the same strat and we follow it, but still unsuccessful. Our problem is the porting and memwipe of the tanks. Others have said it happens about 3 times in the entire fight, but we're having it happen like every 15 seconds. Every other time it ports the tank, it puts them upstairs, and they bring more adds. Many, Many adds.

<div></div>Gorenaire is a very easy fight. When my guild takes him down we stay up on the second floor with him, then the tank gets behind him and pulls. Then we alternate tanks when one gets ported, one tank is a berserker and the other is a guardian. In the worst case, one tank gets ported down on the first floor of the room but by the time Gorenare is ready to port again the tank has already come back up the elevator and is ready to take the aggro if the second tank gets ported. We have him dead before he ports more than twice. Make sure you got the DPS to burn the living dog [Removed for Content] out of him in around one minute.<div></div>

We fight him upstairs, on the glass. And only ever got 1 add. He teleports the tank down, then next tank grabs aggro. The first tank runs to the elevator and comes back up. We use 3 tanks.

By upstairs, Del meant the third floor, he forgot that there arent any stairs ... and upstairs could have meant the second floor as well. Del's not the brightest...but he is cool cause he took hold of the mob for a couple seconds, didnt you Del? <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />

People responding saying things like "we only get 1 add" and "we only had tank ported twice" and "burn him down in 1 minute" doesn't help at all. We've been there three times and probably made 15 attempts and each time its the same problems. We've tried fighting on top floor, but when tank gets ported down and has to wait on elevator, and while he's waiting, another tank gets ported down, and now both are waiting on elevator, sometimes they don't get back up top before the third tank is ported, and not to mention all the adds. So we try fighting on second floor so tank can get back easier by dropping down, but when he does he brings lots of adds with him. Very frustrating when it seems nobody else has these problems with him. Everyone just says how nerfed he is, and how easy it is and give the same strat that is just impossible with the lots of porting and adds that we have, but nobody else does<img src="/smilies/9d71f0541cff0a302a0309c5079e8dee.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV>

<DIV>I havent faught Talendor yet but Gorenaire we fought this past weekend. Getting hit by the AE doesnt have this dudes adds active, that i can tell you ... cause we had people getting hit by it and they werent spawning. The glass might be the reason, cause i know i ran on the glass at one point for a sec and we did have one add i think.</DIV>

From what I believe, the adds are spawned after every deaths that occurs if someone dies, an add spawn, if someone's pet were killed too, another add spawn.... at first that might explain the adds... but maybe there is something else that trigger the adds that i do not know of yet <div></div>

15 second porting sound like you got a bugged round. Now for all the adds, 1 add will spawn if anyone should step in the maroon circles on the second floor, 5+ ads will spawn if your tank gets ported to the third floor on the glass (could be random not sure). What we do is run with 2 plate tanks, 1 brawler. raid charges in the middle of second floor fighting Gor where he stands, all tanks facing there back towards under the glass area incase of knockback (knockback isnt that far and can be ran back to the middle of room), now fighting in the middle each time the tank in control gets ported he will lose all agro and next tank take over, healers keeping the tanks at max HP which isnt a problem since he doesnt hit hard, tank will get prted to either of 4 locations, 3rd floor glass, second floor under glass, 3rd floor across from glass, and second floor across from glass. If tank gets ported 3rd floor and is 100% HP he can fall down ( NOT jump) and only take 75% damage. Now fighting in the middle of the room makes this all easy as all healers dont have to run around looking for there tanks, tanks fall run to Gor continue taunting and get heal rdy for takeover. Casters and healers need to place themselves away from the maroon circles in the rooms which will spawn and add and good to make sure your scouts and casters watch where there backs are facing, one hard nuke and agro loss happens and your caster/scout get knocked back down the ely your done. many other ways to fight this guy so chose what best suits you and your raid force. I found it hard to fight Gor against a wall as it made a longer run for the ported tank or on 3rd floor as waiting for the ely is for the birds LOL. As for the 15 second porting your getting bugged. Given that fighting on the third floor would never work because we cant wait for the elevator before he teleports all our tanks. Hes also mitiagating the dps down to nothing and healing himself every 10 secs or so when i looked at the parse. We are also getting adds without anyone dying in the aoe.</P> <P>So much for a nerfed Gonaire, </P> <P>but ya i have heard of some guiulds going in there and not getting more then 3-4 ports and hes not mitigating dps down to 300 max or healing him self. so im thinking we are getting a bugged instince</P> <P> </P> <P>I think the idea with the brawler tanks is a good one. also having a healer on the third floor with a mezzer to heal the tanks as they teleport and then have to fall down is helpful.</P> <P> </P> <P>Killing harla and vyemm seem to be much easier then this guy, any advice is helpful</P>

pet pull him to a wall, have tanks with thier backs to one of bits of wall that sticks out, position gorenaire so that he is a long the wall, dps and healers behind , burn down mob. Shouldn't need more than 2/3 tanks, make sure every sticks close to the wall to avoid adds, when tank is ported he runs back and gets healed as needed.

We ended up having 3 rotating tanks...monk pulled, got ported...gaurdian tanked, got ported, zerker tanked, got ported, sk tanked, got ported, someone picked it up and he died (i think the zerker re-got)</P> <P> </P> <P><IMG src="http://stasis.nektuloslounge.com/files/gore.JPG"></P>
