because reviving gives you full power. We had very few people actually do this though. Certainly not enough to warrant the term "Zerg".

I used to think that if you charmed the green triple up named dryad and brought her to the matron fight that she might have some scripted text and debuff the matron... because when you hail her sometimes she says "Don't let her defile the ring!"

I don't see how a few people revving and running back constitutes zerging. If this encounter is going badly, and the guild can't get the job done the 'right' way, I don't see how zerging could ensure success.

Yes, we would like to furtherly discuss The Direvine Matron encounter. Seeing as this thread has already been derailed, let's try to get it back on track.

How many people really agree that the "crit changes" that may or may not take place in LU26 is all the attention that this encounter needs? I don't think anybody is even close to beating it right now; alot of people agree that it is "possible" in it's current state but luck is too big of a factor. Why should a raid have to kill the first two epic mobs every single time in order to advance to the third mob? In my opinion the first two mobs are nothing but a huge time-sink. The Direvine Matron is definitely tough, but the first 2 encounters before her are unneccesary. All they are doing really is preventing guilds from getting true practice against the mob. Nobody wants to sit there for hours on end a night spending 95% of that total time on the first 2 mobs. I think they add minimal difficulty to the encounter, sure, people need to conserve power during them ( which makes the fights even longer ) but that's pretty much it. Other than that what are they there for? They definitely don't add any true difficulty to the encounter as a whole other than the fact that it is all one big transition and the risk of someone going LD. That right there is the most difficult part of those mobs ... fight them for however long and hope nobody goes LD during that time.

Anyways, that's just my opinion. I'm glad that she is truly challenging but I don't think this mob is being fought nearly enough simply because people are discouraged to waste so much time on a luck of the draw encounter.

Here's what I think they should do about the first two mobs: each one drops a no zone item that lets you pass it in the ring event. That means you only have to fight them every time you need to repair or something. I think that would be tolerable. As far as she goes, I think the crits will help, but her adds still cause a lot of pain with their AEs. I'm in a mainly DPS oriented guild, and even we have doubt about having the DPS to burn down adds every 30 seconds, that stun or stifle you, while avoiding the matron's AEs, and DPSing her inbetween adds. I'm sure sooner or later one of any number of guilds will pull it off after she can't crit, guess we'll see.

Tank A you are out of power, commit suicide." - KalidonBTW, anyone else find it funny that a matter of hours after EL has to steal the princes from another guild they have 2 of their members make newbs on our server to come watch us kill them? Only explanation I see is they wanted to see how to do it without having another guild kill 2 of the princes for them.
Message Edited by Ishboozor on 08-03-2006 06:48 AM
