<DIV>Both Everfrost and Permafrost are T5 zones, so level 40+. To be honest though, you really need to be grouped to get further into the zone if you go at those levels. Further into Everfrost is definitely higher 40s. I'd imagine Permafrost would also be high 40s recommended. I personally haven't spent much time in Permafrost, so I can't really comment on that. Ditto for the loot. I never spent much time in Everfrost (went from Feerott to Sinking Sands really), but there is an HQ there (eyepatch) as well as a couple instances to do.</DIV>

I think the lowest level mob in PF is 48 heroic, so you should be mid to upper level 40's and in a group if you want to go there. If I recall correctly there are at least 5 or 6 named mobs in PF that can drop decent loot. All in all PF is my favorite zone for grinding from 45 to 50. It probably helps that I like the whole icy look though. <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />

Permafrost looks like it should be a bigger zone.  Its like 1/10 of the size of Sol A, and they are the same Tier. You can tell how the game has changed when you visit these zones.  Both Everfrost and Lavastorm are long zones which require you to travel (in a group) to the actualy dungeon.  It takes a LONG time to get there too (well, it did way back in the day).  Passing numerous heroic mobs, some named mobs, and even some epic mobs. The reward for all this was that you got to spend time in the two big dungeons, Permafrost and Sol....which were good back in the day. Sol has been revamped, and if you can get a group (and you wont) there is some nice loot in there.  Permafrost has not been revamped, so you will get the wooden chest booby prize on the majority of your named kills. Problem is that no one goes to these zones (like most zones) anymore so they are basically just taking up data space.  If you go to Everfrost, you probably are trying to do some HQs....same thing with lavastorm. I have been to both er areas numerous times on different alts doing those HQs, and I cannot recall ever seeing a group in Lavastorm or Everfrost...and everytime I entered Permafrost I was the only one in the zone (heck, it may even be an instance..hehe).  As for Sol A, the only ones in there are those fools farming in vain for their Efreeti L&L drops...heh

And people don't go there, because they don't realize that the 2 zones are pretty good for XP grind groups. They just are so far out there, that so few people know about them, that people don't go there.

The first time I stepped in PF was on one of my alts, but after 10 minutes of grinding in there I had already decided to spend as much grinding time there as I could. I know most grind groups seem to focus on CT, but IMO for XP PF is far superior.

Perma isn't *that* far in though, its just people being lazy. There are no shortage of CT groups, but perma is a shorter run imo. The perma run is just more dangerous for very low 40s due to the see invis giants.<div></div>

I spent a great deal of time there back when the max level was 50, was the grinding zone of choice. Haven't been there since the revamp, but have an alt rapidly approaching perma level, so should be heading there soon.I used to enjoy the zone back when every chest was wood, but then uber loot isn't the defining factor on whether a zone is good/fun for me. I personally detest RE and RoV, and am pleased to have only spent about an hour in total there on my latest alt.<div></div>

You could go there at level 3, but I don't think you'd last very long. The lowest level solo mobs are about 43-44, so 40 is probably a minimum if you want to survive/kill anything. Its a beautiful zone, and probably the first zone in the game that made me go wow, back in the day. The second being Soluseks Eye deep down.<div></div>

Let's not forget that Vox spawns in Permafrost, so if you aren't paying attention, you're going to get owned.  Oh, and Alangria and Knubed too!

<DIV>pf rocks for xp especially with those progressive quests you can pick up in that big round room.  Of course, I havne't been since the t5 cap so not sure how easily you'd find a group willing to progress those quests with you, shame though, from what I remember the end reward was pretty decent for its time.</DIV>

<P>Permafrost has been revamped and re-itemised. The statue quests are still here, so it's a very good zone, if your group is already done. Just don't expect to go there and find a PU group.</P> <P>Imo Everfrost is now an obsolete zone, because there is no solo quest path, and because there are better places to group in at this level.</P>

<div></div>I think the problem with Everfrost and Lavastorm is that they don't follow the pattern of outdoor=mostly solo and indoor=mostly group.  Also neither has any real questlines besides a couple heritage quests.  Both these zones are in desparate need of a revamp, then we may actually have people in these zones<div></div>

Fallen Gate is my favorite eq2 zone (never played eq1). I wish there was a level 70 version of it.
