The guild I am in is in the process of working through the Guild Level Raids given out by the city registrars. We successfully completed the first two without any problems. Last night we had arranged to do the Level 15 raid - The One Who Got Away / The One Who Opened Their Eyes in Firemyst Gully in Antonica. We encountered 2 distinct problems that diminished the experience and took up a lot of people's time uneccessarily.

1) Getting the writs has changed:

The city registrars will no longer give questors a choice of writ and some of the participants were unable to get the writ for this quest no matter what they tried.

Others had to get the first writ, go to that zone, came back, get the second writ, zone in, and then get the third writ to finally have the right one in their quest book. This is an uneccessary waste of player time

It appears now that once you have done a writ (i.e. zoned in) there is no way to get it again. I tried to get the earlier raid writs I have completed but could not get them from the city registrar.

How are we to practice raids and plan events when we cannot rely on getting the writs & access to these zones? The 1 day zone lockout is a joke in light of this.

2) The scaling of the Guild Level 15 raid zone is totally messed up

We entered the zone with a full 2 group raid, one group was mentored at 33 and the other at 31.

As soon as we entered the zone the first encounter we saw (on the left) was Level 40x2. It conned red to everyone in the raid. We ended up trying to get a level 40 into the zone to help out with mentoring but that wouldn't work (waste of player time). We ended up having one group mentored at 53 and one group mentored at 33 to get it to work (green and orange). There was one person who could not get XP due to this 'solution'.

Once we had defeated the encounter, everything else in the zone was grey to the first group (53) so we mentored back down to 33/31 split. (waste of time having to mentor, rementor over and over).

We actually started to have some fun, clearing out the roaming mobs that were yellow to us.

When it came time to do the Epicx3, it was orange con to most of the raid. We wiped and it was a challenging & interesting fight (AoE knockback and stuns) but the Orange con on a x3 for a x2 raid zone is a bit excessive. Try it again in a couple of days?.... um refer to point #1 above. :smileyindifferent:

In summary, with an average mentored zone in level of 32, there were encounters scaling (?) 5-8 levels higher than the group average making them red and orange to a majority of group members.

Please fix these two issues SOE if you want x2 city raiding to be viable in the game.

Edits=spelling etc...

Message Edited by Godflower on 05-19-2006 07:44 AM

Message Edited by Godflower on 05-19-2006 07:47 AM

Message Edited by Godflower on 05-19-2006 07:49 AM
