View Full Version : Tenebrous Tangle Captives
<div>Ok this is becoming a big problem on my server Kithicor and I have reported it numerous times. We are killing practically every droag in the vacinity of the captives yet they still insist there are guards around them. So far I have only seen this with the creature "A captive froglok Archaeologian" and "A captive Froglok armorsmith/armorer". I first encountered this with the armorsmith and reported it promptly never getting a reply from the CSR after a failed attempt of him/her to contact me. I along with another player were only able to free the smith after 15 to 20 minutes of trying and failing with spawns, respawns as well as wondering mobs. Please I ask that these frogloks be looked into and be made a bit more braver in their attempts to escape :smileywink: .</div>

Hmmm... I've never had a problem. Granted, soloing the Scaleborn sentries (and stonesetters) to release the frogloks takes some quick killing, but I did it many times. When someone else was also killing them, it was a piece of cake. The spawn times on some of the mobs are different. Knowing which ones take longer to re-spawn and killing them first is a good strategy.<div></div>
<div></div><blockquote><hr>Magus` wrote:<div><span><blockquote><hr>Amana wrote:<div>I first encountered this with the armorsmith and reported it promptly never getting a reply from the CSR after a failed attempt of him/her to contact me.</div><hr></blockquote><font size="5">STOP ABUSING /PETITION. You post like this again in response to me I will report you for harrassment ok. I reported the issue hoping that there was a stuck NPC and it seems there was 1 because the middle NPC was not respawning for the froglok armorer. </p><p>Also to clarify Magus' I did not report this as a bug but a stuck NPC for the armorsmith so I was in the right of way. It also appears that action was taken when I reported that the attackable semi named/named NPC that is supposed to spawn in that tree house was stuck. He was never respawning and we waited a good 15 minutes to let him respawn with us getting nothing. In turn I ask that you ask more polite questions instead of being rude screaming and yelling like a 2 year old.</p><p>As for the next statement the only thing I can say is it may unfortunately be on my server but :smileyindifferent: . I have gone in with a friend attacking practically every single sentry that is around the creature. I had trouble today with the froglok surgeon where me and a group went up took down every named but the surgeon refused to move. This is more of an idea or /nudge to the devs cause these little green guys don't seem to want to move anymore except stay in their little tree house homes. </p><p>It is also sad because most people only seem content on rescueing the froglok armorsmith since he repairs armor. That is the only thing seems worthwhile to players on my server atleast where they want the froglok armorsmith down there fixing their armor when it gets broke. </p>

Had the exact same problem with the Amor Froggie this AM, I killed all the mobs, around the tree, on top the tree, even the rover that walks from the far area to the tree, at least 4 sets, complete with named twice and PH for named 2x. The little bugger kept telling me kill the Guards or their watching. Then went to the temple area, killed all the Sentry's right up to the Stonesetters, then even the Stonesetters, froggie stood there as well.<div></div>

I also think the problem is all NPCs including roamers that come near the tree house confuse him/her/it as well. Just hope this little bug gets sorted out, the only NPC that really concerns people on my server is the rescueing of the froglok armorer so he can repair adventurer's armor.

It's anoying however, because these NPC's are also the turn in NPC's of 3 quests each and are not in "Frog-Town" most the time because of the bug. I finally got him to run back later today after about 6 total clearings of the treehouse. If it were not for the fact that I have done some of the quests before I would think it was something I was doing wrong.<div></div>

You should be using /bug, not bothering the GMs. As has been stated before, they can not fix bugs.</span></div>

Hopefully these little guys can be fixed up since it seems this might be a bug. </p><p>I haven't seen a reason yet but it would be nice to see some extra side quests attached to these little guys or special items that you can buy from them for getting faction with them. I was in the right of way the reason why is the NPC was not respawning and was stuck. I'm just sorry I wasn't in game when the CSR/GM tried to contact me. I did not report it as a bug but a problem with a quest problem. It seems that either the NPC that was in question was unstuck by the GM/CSR because when I logged on early in the moring before update he was spawned. Also magus' I don't care what you say I will report something I feel is wrong and make my own judgement call on rather to say its a bug or to report it to CSR/GMs.</p><p>Message Edited by Amana on <span class="date_text">04-03-2006</span><span class="time_text">06:31 PM</span></p>

Still occuring, can't turn in any quests since I can't clear the trees properly enough for them to run. And it isn't time, since the tree was clear for 3 minutes.

I don't even bother with those because they never seem to work right. But anyway, what did you think a GM was going to do? They can't do anything about that. You are talking to the wrong people and you finally came to the right place, the forums so the devs see it and I hope you bugged it also.I have had great success in this game with GMs. People complain about them and I even heard some say SOE has the worst. They should try playing some other games to see what they taking for granted here. Often those people who complain about GMs are the ones who page very often for things that GMs obviously can do nothing about. Things like clients crashing do to custom UI's and such. People even get upset at the GMs for changing their name. Hey atleast in this game the GMs let you pick another name rather then giving you an NPC name and then making you pay $20 for a name change like in UO.<p>Message Edited by Littles on <span class=date_text>05-13-2006</span> <span class=time_text>09:42 PM</span>

Magus: I agree with Amana, you are a Mod but you use heavy handed techniques to "enforce" your "law" I would have reported you for harasment on this one post if that Venom you have was directed at me. So tell me Magus, since you know all about every script in the game, and every bug in the game. why aren't you offering your knowledge to SOE? Are you employed by soe? perhaps they can put you in charge of determining if a /petition is legit or not. apparently you do know all this information that we do not. We the Players do not always know a bug in a script or a stuck char. and be warned, i used no terms to "threaten" you, nor did i insult you. I made a comment about your "style" and asked a question with a suggestion of what you could offer SOE. If you attack me I *WILL* report this. Rorix the Risen, Dragons of the World UNITE!<div></div>

<P>I haven't seen this problem with the armorsmith or the archeologist on AB, but boy is the surgeon ever bugged. He is never in the sanctuary, it drives me nuts, heh. Of all the times I've attempted to free him, he's only run back once. Even more frustrating is when you go there, see he's actually in the place for the quest turnin, and then the zone crashes and he's GONE. This has happened twice toa friend of mine.</P> <P>You guys might want to take a look at how long it takes him to get recaptured too. I see the armorsmith and the archeologist quite often, enough that it's usually a semi-rare thing that they are not at their posts. The surgeon seems to get captured more than Princess Toadstool.</P> <P> </P>

All 3 frogloks were captive on Unrest and I freed two of the houses about 3-4 times each before giving up.So annoying. Let me just hand in these (almost green) quests so that I can go about my business. Tired of these dumb frogs thinking they are still captured.agressivUnrest Server<div></div>

All 3 captives are bugged on Unrest today, cleared the areas multiple times... petitioned, and got a canned response from GM Zhymys or somthing like that, essentially saying 'hey, we've been getting lots of reports that they're not working right... send in a bug report, im not going to reset the mobs or do anything to help though, have happy gaming'

I now have five quests that are forever stuck in my journal, because the armorer/mender and the surgeon are NEVER in the refuge. I've even sat in the refuge for hours hoping that maybe I'm just missing it. Nothing.I sure wish somebody would address this. This is not fun.<div></div>
