<DIV>I've returned to EQ2 after many months, after I saw PvP was finally added.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>So I jumped into the new server and started at it.  The PvP is awesome...  until of course other activities are practically halted because the "required camp" spots are heavily camped by high level players that will knock you off in a heartbeat, even though nothing else is needed.  Even 8 levels is enough for 1 guy to take out 3 to 4 IF he knows who to hit first in the group.  Most of the time (not all!) the 8 level advantage is enough for the kill.  In addition there are many "access points" for quests or near zones that are guaranteed hit zones.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>For the most part I like game balance.  I have always hated the "camp" approach to questing but most of the time, there really is no alternate solution.  So without wishing for a major rework of current quests hehe...  here is some balance issues, that I believe also exist on the non-PvP servers.</DIV> <OL> <LI>8 levels higher that whatever zone is making most zones "too easy"</LI> <LI>Assistance is nice, but it allows much higher levels to make the zone "even easier"</LI> <LI>Quests cannot be completed by the designated level players, due to solo or duo higher level players...  hopefully not the original intent of the quest design.</LI></OL> <P>I am not saying to make the quests/zones inaccessible to higher level players.  I'm not even saying make all the low level zones inaccessible to higher level players.  Speaking for myself, I get a real kick out of the new eminent danger of travelling the EQ2 world.  It is such a new and fun dimension to the game, it brought me back.  But the level advantage is getting heavily exploited and that probably should be fixed.</P> <P>My solution: add a new KOS type of mob.  Lower level zones have added high level mobs that appear "grey" to low level players but are actually green/blue/white/orange/red to players that are not within the designated level of the zone.  This does not make the zone inaccessible but it does make for a better balance between high and low level players.  These mobs may even give the amount of xp deemed worthy of that zone (not as much as the high level zones/dungeons).</P> <P> </P>
