View Full Version : The Ruins Guards dont defend players

Was just bringing a new char in the Ruins, the stationary guards just sit there and never defend you. Its very easy to get adds there and these guards, who are now heroic, don't bother engaging the orcs. I saw a wandering guard finally engage one, but it took a while.Working as intended?agressivUnrest Server<div></div>

<P>This has been going on for a while, I've asked about it several times but gotten few responses... One other question I had that was from the same story was if this 'social aggro' thing was universal, because I only remember seeing about it being added to KoS, but I KNOW I've experienced it in The Ruins.</P> <P>On the topic of the guards I think I have a couple of pics of the guards being useless lumps..</P>

Worse of all, they let the orcs wander right into the middle of their camp and even up to the docks. I have (on my lowbie alt) been killed while trying to talk to NPCs for quests.It really could use to be fixed, please.<div></div>

they used to defend you not to long ago, it was until recently when they stopped....but i have to say its way better now then it was....trying to solo in there was almost impossible for me....the guards are so close to the mobs that if i tried to pull a mob to a safe spot theyd ks me....so id have to fight out in the open just so they wouldnt, and with lots of roamers and large aggro range on mobs i died like 25 times before i just gave up. i finally went back to my alt recently and the guards no longer "helped me" and it was great cause i could solo safely.

<DIV>What you have to realize is that the ruins have been broke since they day SOE revamped it. It is far to hard to be in line with all the other newbie LEARNING zones to be all that good. I mean you almost have to grab a group to do the solo quests because of the roamers and really really big aggro radius.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Also, don't forget the general dude that is running around at like level 19... the dude has a harm touch that can one hit anyone of the appropriate level to be there. Hell, he actually did a little over 10% damage to my 47 bruiser (decked out in the rare tier 5 leather)... 5% alone with that blasted harm touch.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>But on the topic of the actual guards, this is how they should work:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Should attack any non engaged orcs that get to close.</DIV> <DIV>Should attack any orcs attacking a player that are not being attack by that player.</DIV> <DIV>Should attack any orc that a player has yelled for help on.</DIV> <DIV>And for the love of god put the heroic guards where the [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn] heroic mobs are!</DIV>
