View Full Version : Court of Al'Afaz PITA zone in area.
<div>Could someone please move the mirror or the place where you land once you zone into this raid zone? I was in a raid on Saturday night, and we zoned in just fine. A few seconds later, I'm back out in PoF, locked out of the zone, and we've not killed anything in the zone just yet. I must have accidentally clicked on that mirror, and I know this has happened to others while in this zone. Folks who revive after a total wipe have clicked on the mirror by the zone in and have zoinked themselves out to PoF.</div><div> </div><div>If it is too much of a pain to move the mirror or have the "landing area" moved a small distance away from the mirror, could a confirming window pop up and ask "are you sure you want to zone out? yes or no buttons to clickie"</div>

Is it too much of a pain to move your camera and NOT double click the mirror?<div></div>
<div></div><div>YAY. One of my posts got a flame by Magas`. I feel extra special now.</div><div> </div><div>Guess you've never heard of the infamous lag in this game. And yes, I had already turned my settings down to try and counter the lag.</div>
What does lag have to do with it? Lag won't make you click anything. I've done that raid and all I had to do was turn around. You don't even have to click to turn. Use the arrow keys.<div></div>

<div></div><div>Actually clicking the "F" key while your mouse is at the mirror will zone you out too, which is probably what happened.</div>
I must admit, I can't see how anyone could zone themselves out by accident, but I do like the idea of having a confirmation box.

hmm, confirmation box sounds like a cool idea! Maybe even bring it up if one tries to revieve outside the raid zone ... it doesn't happen often but u'll always have one guy along ever so often who screws up on these ...oh while we talk about court, pls disable evac in the zone ...<div></div>

<div></div><hr>I know what the OP is saying, but this is also where people complain about dumbing down the game.<hr>Preventing the user from making mistakes that deny them access to content because of the UI is not dumbing down the game. The UI should not present a challenge - if it is, the game is poorly designed. Challenge should come from the content itself, not the UI.

<div></div><p>The UI doesnt present a challenge in this case...it is simply the player being in 3rd person view and for some reason clicking on the mirror.</p><p>If they were in 1st person they wouldnt even see the mirror.</p><p>As I said, I understand what he is saying because I have too placed my curser over the mirror, but I just dont click it.</p>
<div></div><p>I play in 3rd person. After things 'caught up' from the zone in and the lag, I put my hand on my mouse to scroll wheel myself into first person after we zoned in. The only thing I can think of, is that I accidentally...ever so slightly...tapped my left mouse button...and out I went into PoF. I was locked out for 6 days, and the raid had not even started. I understand this feature is to keep folks from zoning out, going to get armor repaired, then zoning back in...it's just that nothing had been killed yet.</p><p>I've "learned my lesson" and the next time, I'm just going to keep my hand off the [Removed for Content]' mouse.</p>

<div></div><p>The problem is that the mirror doesn't even need to be in your viewing screen for it to be used. At certain fringe distances you'll get your "hand" icon popping up when mousing over the center of the screen even though the mirror is not visable. When jousting the AE of the Keeper one could easily double click when trying to move. Or should someone could click the mirror when targetting a raid member in the raid list (click through window enabled).</p><p>There are many situations where perfectly competent players can fall victim to the oddly behaving mirror. I, personally, have experienced it in normal Shim Citadel when my camera moves back after zone in.</p>

<div></div><p>Try this:</p><p>Options > Controls</p><p>Where it says Use Double Click or Single Click to Select Object and take Defult</p><p>Set that to double click.</p><p>Problem solved.</p>

<div>There is nothing wrong wit hthe UI, it works just fine. The problem is, people are just not setting it up is a manner that will prevent this. If you set it so that you need to double - click in order to zone, it doesn't matter if you are in first or third person.</div><div>The issue is not the UI, but rather people not knowing how to take advantage of the UIs options.</div><p>Message Edited by Noaani on <span class="date_text">03-28-2006</span><span class="time_text">03:43 PM</span></p>
