One of the joys of character development in EQLive was choosing some obscure faction that you wanted to align yourself with, and over time develop good relations with them. It was pleasurable on an RP level, and there was always the exciting thought that a new faction-specific quest might someday be thrown onto one of those random Bloodsabers (or whatnot) that almost everyone else just views as an enemy. Sure, there were sacrifices with other factions liking you less, but that was one reason it was such a satisfying addition to character development.I'd really like to see more of this in EQ2. There's so many great factions, but the faction seems a little half-heartedly implemented. Take two opposing factions and killing one will give you faction with the other, but killing the other won't give you faction with the first. It's counterintuitive.I've always had a soft spot for the Bloodsabers, and I really like the Marked faction, too. Even if quest lines aren't necessarily added, adding faction changes to the mobs that make sense shouldn't be hard.I know that such a thing would require quite a bit of careful balancing, so I'm not expecting it to be implemented hastily by any means. I'm posting this to get more opinions -- do you have any favorite factions that you'd love your character to cultivate an alliance with, despite negative consequences?<div></div>

<div>Too often getting faction requires continually killing the same group of mobs ad nauseum. At least in EQ I haver never found it entertaining. Remember getting dragon faction -- so you could run through their area without being killed and run into the temple to kill them and then spend the next week killing giants to get your faction back. That sort of faction was hardly edifying or fun.</div>
