View Full Version : Rumbleroots camping the N'Mars Ascent Tower

I have noted that on the last few times I have taken a griffin to the N'Mars Ascent station there have been groups of 2-3 level 27 Rumbleroots camping the tower. While I know that the area is extremly dangerous I should at least be able to land on the tower and not get killed before I even get off the griffin. The wife and I both (level 22 at the time) were killed before the griffin had even vanished. It seemed to happen at random but has happened to me on my alts a lot lately. My question is to see if it is just a freak incident or there is a problem with the Rumbleroots aggro area. I seem to me that all other tower I have used in the game generally do not have an aggro mob waiting at the tower or close enough to aggro and attack before I even have a chance to move.Anyone else having this issue as well? I am curious to see how many ppl may be having this issue. -Jimru<div></div>
My level 30 SK is fine when she lands on the top of the griff tower, but as soon as she's halfway down the ramp, she gets jumped by an aggro rumbleroot. It appears to me that there is one 'root hanging out at the base of the griff tower that is part of a larger, spread-out group. He whacks my SK, and the rest come running from wherever.<div></div>

If you come running towards the tower towing a train of rumbleroots, they sometimes seem to hang on the corner of the cliff and not go back home sometimes.I'd say just keep a lookout for them in the area, peer down over the edge of the tower and see where they are before you head down.<div></div>

Worse, they sometimes spawn with a semi-named and, unless they fixed it, will chase you forever (in the picture below, I went up to Bone Lake, ran around it a few dozen times, finally had a ranger escape me out, only to have the rumbleroots meet him on the bridge to Commonlands and proceed to kill him.. that was around the time of LU#19, not sure if right before or right after).Worse, unless it has been fixed, they frequently can't be killed because, if they're not chasers, as soon as they move off their spawn spot, they break their own encounter and rush back to their spot. Since they spawn a bit away from each other, as soon as you attack one, the others move toward you, breaking the encounter and going to max health again.Yeah, I've been killed by them a few times... or had other problems with them.<div></div><img src="http://www.eq2alchemy.com/rijacki/SS/RUN1.jpg">Hey wow, that was before my Jboots.. but it was shortly after the change to runspeed.<img src="http://www.eq2alchemy.com/rijacki/SS/RUN2.jpg">

That group running after me in the screenshots started attacking me before the griffon even disappeared. The OP was saying as much, too.(In my case I was mentoring into the high 20s which is why they were green to me).</span></div>

<div></div>I had my lvl 36 Necro up that way last night and ended up getting ambushed as soon as I walked down the platform. Luckily I had my pet out and was able to kill them, but it is definately a problem as my toon is pretty much done with that area.
