I've searched the forums for other info, but don't see any more recent updates. Is there a point to the Char'Gin camp and its merchants, other than the Amulet quest giver? <div></div><p>Just last night I was speaking to the NPC for the amulet series and took the chance to see if any of the NPCs now responded in a more constructive way since I'd last been there but no named NPC gives out any quests.</p><p>I was wondering exactly what you where, whether I was missing out on a quest series/line due to there being no obvious way to increase faction. One thing I thought of was maybe once you've done the amulet series the NPC you spoke to responds in a differant way? I haven't got my amulet yet so can't check this myself yet.</p><p>It would be a shame for that entire camp to go to waste, looks like it has potential.</p>

<div></div><div>FYI, finishing the amulet quest makes no change in faction, or in how the Char'Gin camp acts towards you; no new quests or dialogue.</div><div> </div><div>-Oura</div>

Speaking of Char'Gin faction, I finally got around to grinding my alt through the faction quests so he could do Ring of Fate. He's stuck on Truth atm, because one of the quests requires talking to a merchant in the Char'Gin camp; only problem is that my alt got himself KOS to Char'Gin....and I have yet to find a mob that fixes faction with them. Does anyone know of any mobs that killing them raises Char'Gin faction? Cause otherwise I can't progress on Truth, and I can't start Ring of Fate, which really blows because my alt's a healer and I was looking forward to having that FT2. <img src="/smilies/9d71f0541cff0a302a0309c5079e8dee.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /><div></div>

<div></div><div>Exactly my point in bringing this up (again). I'm wondering if the fix mentioned by Svartmane 4 months ago ever occured, or if anything else has changed in regards to raising Char'Gin faction. With a problem like getting a quest update in the Char'Gin camp, there must be something a player can do?</div><div> </div><div>Thanks for mentioning that, Max, I'll be sure to tell my guildies to try to remember to not offhandedly kill any Char'Gin if they plan on doing Ring of Fate. I think most in our guild have just been lucky til now.</div><div> </div><div>-Oura</div>

Have you tried killing the sirens?

Yes, the sirens raise faction with Char'Gin? Or were you answering a different question?Would love to get this fixed, since I'm as far along on Peacock as I can get atm, and this is all that's holding me up on Ring of Fate.... <img src="/smilies/9d71f0541cff0a302a0309c5079e8dee.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /><div></div>
Yes, he's tried killing sirens, not yes they work, of courseNOTHING raises char'gin faction.<div></div>

<div></div><p>before LU 18 (if i remember well) killing harpies gave 1 point for the chargin faction.</p><p>Now, well, absolutly nothing in pillars gives chargin faction.</p><p>I killed a chargin npc to check the opposite, and it raised aravu naga. Then killed a naga and it increased court of master djinn.</p><p> </p>

<div>Aravu Naga in Shimmering citadel did not work, nor did the undead. Nor the Naruem naga (which show as Aravu Naga in their faction hit) on the Eastern Stinging Isle next to the Char'Gin. :smileysad:</div><div> </div><div>No mention of Char'Gin in any of the faction messages and my Char'Gin faction is still -39, 978, as always.</div><div> </div><div>-Oura</div>

I'm sorry I wasn't more clear. Once LU 19 goes live, try killing some Naga.<div></div>

Given the lack of usefulness of Ortallian faction, I find it hard to believe that it will be useful to wreck naga faction to get on their good side.<div></div>

<div></div><blockquote><hr>MakhailSammael wrote:<div>Wonder if it will be worth raising this faction at all...</div><hr></blockquote>Aye, the only real advantage I can see is the ability to use the mender on the Island, but if I need mending, I can use the one at the Sandstrider camp.

<div></div>Having bad faction with the naga will make setting up Court of Al'Afaz raids that much more annoying, so it's really not worth it.

<div></div><p><font color="#ffffff">Its </font><font color="#ff3300">REALLY REALLY ANNOYING </font><font color="#ffffff">that DOF was only half finished and now we have a new expansion which will be the same?</font></p><p>We have many racial camps that you can raise faction in, but in only a couple is there any point (Monks) ie access to quests/menders/merchants/banks or continuation of quests started elswhere. FGS put some quests/menders in the Ortallian, Orc, Swiftrider, Clops, Giants and Char Gin camps (and what about the UD for the Necros/evils to build on LOL). We could have had a rich diversity of options to build on but instead have a large range of dead ends. Building faction and then running off to see what or who you can talk to now is just a frustrating waste of time.</p><p>BTW can you raise faction with Orcs in SS to use the Orc Mender on the Highway?</p>

<div>Factions have enever been particularly useful in EQ2, it's not just a DoF phenomena.</div>
