View Full Version : I can't keep quiet any longer ... what is up with Stonestair Byway zonelines?

<DIV>Why is it inverted and rotated Scale Yard that defies the laws of time and space? The entrance to North Freeport is in the north of the zone, leading to the north. As soon as you zone in, the door is directly to your north again. It should be to the south! And the graveyard entrance in the south of the zone leading to the south, but when you go through, once again the entrance is to your south.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>These two zonelines should be swapped. According to the map that came with the game and all reason. I noticed this the first day I played and it has bothered me ever since. Some gnomes need to get in there and fix it because those Euridites have really messed things up. Before you know it there's going to be a huge smoking hole there.</DIV>

That's because it is Scale Yard, inverted and rotated. Clearly a rush job, like all the freeport newbie towns.

<div></div>I been complaining about this since beta days. Sony will never fix it. Even the overall map of the city shows it should be switched around.
<div>When you leave the Vermin's Snye and go into the Crypt of Betrayal the entrances are really messed up too. The doors in the VS are not anywhere near where they need to be in CoB, not even flipped either. I noticed this about 3 months ago when my first character went into the CoB for a quest, the entrance on my map didnt put me near the place I needed to be in CoB at all.</div>

<div></div><p>Honestly, i don't find this nearly as offensive as moving befallen to antonica and calling it "Stormhold."</p><p>I'd really like to know what SH was supposed to look like...</p>

I remember seeing the screens of Befallen before release.</p><p>Personally I don't think there WAS a Stormhold before they decided to rename it and move it. So it looks like it was supposed to.</p>

Its befallen. Some NPC's in there still call it befallen. The zone file is called befallen.vpk, and there is no stormhold.vpk. If you look at the exit, it doesn't match the front door entrance, it matches the sandstone from commonlands, like it did in EQ1.</p><p>They moved befallen to antonica, and renamed it. Then came up with crap lore to justify it. Pure and simple.</p>

<div></div><p>Yes, Stormhold <em>was</em> Befallen.</p><p>Yes, Fallen Gate should be somewhere else... Nek Forest is more appropriate.</p><p>Yes, development times end up being longer than people expect, regardless of the company in question.</p><p>Yes, reality upsets some people.</p><p>No, those things don't upset me. Why? Because they were done because of time constraints.</p><p>But the Stonestair Byway flip is lazyness. It's someone failing to understand how you can enter "North Freeport" by travelling south while in Stonestair... so they flipped the enterances... and when the problem was pointed out in Beta nobody took the time to fix it. That upsets me.</p>

<div>Its a tribute to OOT (Ocean of Tears) zone from EQLive.....OR....The presence of so many euridites has altered the laws of spatiality and corrupted the direction of true north in such a way that .....oh fudge it, figure it out for yourself, Im buisy killing monks!</div>
