Bigger bags can also be transferred through the shared bank to reduce the number of trips you make. I recommend a pet class, conjuror or necromancer, if you are new to the game, as the pet will protect you from dying if you get confused. Wizards can also do well with adepts. Pick a race with high starting strength to carry the loot. Barbarian, Ogre, Troll etc. If your area is overcamped you can level up and try another spot, however, you cannot de-level your character and go back to the starting area where monsters are not aggressive, social, or multiple monster encounters.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>This method will only last as long as transmuters are willing to pay for low level treasured items.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><STRONG></STRONG> </DIV> <DIV><STRONG>Selling Methods</STRONG>:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Now you can simply go around checking every item you have for sale against all the others of the same name and pricing appropriately. This is a time consuming technique, but can result in more coin in the long run. <BR><BR>Another technique is to price by item type. There are 4 different items that give status for every tier (except the first). Some people only buy one of them, usually because they don't know the other 3 exist. Other people search for the 4 different kinds and buy the cheapest of these. So, if you need to sell fast, you would search all 4 kinds of status loot, and price all of your loot at the lowest price among the batches of loot you see. <BR><BR>A third technique is to sell by tier. This usually applies to status loot, plant food, and transmutables. Since transmutables was the hottest market at the time of this writing I'll use it as an example. Transmuters sometimes buy things direcly from the market to transmute, especially if they are trying to raise skill. Transmuters need treasured gear and items or better. Certain things do not count, such as apprentice spells. Items that can be transmuted return different ingredients based on the tier of the item. The tier breakdowns are 1-9, 10-19, 20-29, etc. <BR><BR>To price your items by tier you would search for all items on the broker in that level range and price yours near the lowest (perhaps ignoring a few things priced far below the average low) Even pricing 1 copper below the average low will put your items at the top of the list when people search by tier. Usually I don't bother pushing all the buttons to get something 1c below average value however. Perhaps 50 silver, or a gold.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><STRONG>Collections</STRONG>:</DIV> <DIV>The little ? and ! sparklies you see throughout the game are worth coin. Some more than others. Some are worth a few silver, others are worth several gold and beyond. These are items you usually want to sell individually. Look up the price on each item by clicking on it under your sell tab and searching for it. Then price appropriately. On the other hand you may want to gather all the items for a collection and advertise that you have the entire collection for sale. The mid-level collections are not without value as high level players generally do not venture into those areas solely for the purpose of farming collectables. Collectables from the latest expansion will generally be worth far more than most near the launch of the expansion. Collectables from seldom visited places are also worth considerable coin. For instance splitpaw: I spent a lot of time in splitpaw and picked up the two easy to reach collectables every trip I made to Upper Tunnels. In the end there were hundreds of collectables and the market was nearly bare of collectables from that adventure pack. Some sold quite well, even 50g once in a while. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><STRONG>Advertise</STRONG> when you find things you think are rare but please do not spam constantly. There are even chat channels for trading, but sadly the built in ones are city-alignment based only.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><STRONG>Reselling</STRONG>:</DIV> <DIV>There are two major ways to resell but they both boil down to buy low and sell high. One way is to simply go sifting through the common-low priced items, buy them up, and sell higher. This happens often with some collectables, status loot, and harvested common raws (especially loam at low levels thanks to tinkering).</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>The other way to resell and make a profit is to watch for high value items, buy those, and post for what you think you can get, or advertise and auction them off (preferably without letting the buyers know who all the other buyers are as they will sometimes talk to each other and price fix against you). I do not do this much. The only two I watch out for are Aery Hunter( Master I ) and Nightshade ( Master I ). I once bought Aery Hunter M1 for 18p from the broker and sold it to a player for 66p a few days later- with a potential offer of 100p. It helps to keep some platinum in reserve for this kind of reselling.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><STRONG>Transmuting</STRONG>:</DIV> <DIV>You can still increase your earnings by taking up transmuting. It has a <EM>huge</EM> initial investment. On the order of several hundred platinum if you were to buy all the treasured items from the broker. Once you've gotten high skill, however, some new ways to make coin open up to you.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>"Mulching" the broker as I call it involves buying up treasured items ( generally adept I as they are easiest to search for, and are always transmutable) and merrily transmuting them on the spot. Then just throw the results on the broker at prices that yield you a profit. As mentioned earlier, this phenomenon of transmuting has raised the price of adpets across the board, so <STRONG>DO</STRONG> <STRONG>NOT</STRONG> sell your adpets to vendors unless you are desparate for coin.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>With transmuting you can take on two new kinds of camps that others cannot. Camps with LORE or NO TRADE treasured or better drops. This is something that I love, as most of the ... EULA violating platinum sellers ... are not willing to invest hundreds of platinum in a character that may get banned. Most that I have talked to do not even invest in masters or good gear for their workers.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><STRONG>Adornments</STRONG>:</DIV> <DIV>With transmuting also came adornments. Some of these are GREAT sellers. If you have a high tradeskill level in a class able to make good adornments you may have even greater potential to make money than the transmuters themselves. It only takes a short while to make an adornment and you can sell the good ones for far more than you buy the powders and fragments for. Keep in mind that you get some raws BACK with increasing quality. Also keep in mind that not all adornments can be made at every level. Even if you are only 55-64 in tradeskilling you may be able to make the best items for your class. Tailors ( Damage shield, power, hp ), alchemists ( all stats, ring items), and woodworker ( mitigation and damage shield struts) are some of the classes I have paid several platinum at a time to make batches of adornments for me to sell.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><STRONG>Stay Informed</STRONG>:</DIV> <DIV>Read the previews of upcoming patches and horde things that may become very valuable after the patch/expansion. Those that bought up all the insanely low priced adepts before the release of Echoes of Faydwer either made a ton of money reselling them, or saved a ton of money raising transmuting. Likewise, if you had lots of low level loam and raws at launch, you were in luck.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><STRONG>Constructive</STRONG> feedback is welcome about this post.</DIV> <DIV>Soup questions.</DIV> <DIV>Toodles.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV>
