From last nights's notes;

is an increased chance of harvesting sugar and ground limestone in the Frostfell area

I didn't even realize this as an item. Harvested there for 8 hours on Saturday and found these to be consistant with other harvestables in the area. Did notice sugar had the old sellable code to it, the harvestable was sellable to the vendors for 8 copper each. I think this should be changed to "No-Value".

In my 8 hours harvesting, I found Blue and Silver Dye to be the rarest item and the next rarest item being the clump of wax. I got 1 (one) Blue and Silver Dye and 2 (two) wax during my 8 to 10 hours of harvesting, while I had 3 to 4 stacks of the really common items , such as the male and female patterns and gold/green/red/blue dyes. During this time I ended with 11 sugars and 14 ground limestone.

So I am not sure of the consistance of the drops, or how wide the variance is from person to person depending on other spawn and harvest patterns and/or rates.

Dye

I suspect the issue was that the demand for those two items outweighed the supply. The sugar is used in some of the food and in all the candy cane staff items. The limestone, if memory serves, is used for all three fireplaces, and was often a sticking issue for folks wanting fireplaces.Mileage on harvesting will vary a lot based on which nodes you are harvesting the most of, of course, as there are 3 types, each with different harvests on them, and some folks on Test are cherry picking nodes when they need a specific item to finish off a project.My one real worry with Frostfell is going to be what that poor zone, and the harvesting situation, will be like on a Live server. Am really, really, really praying that it spawns instances when there are more than 50 folks in the zone or something like that ...

I was glad to see that limestone was increased, since its used in both the fireplaces and the candycanes. It appears that vendor-purchased sugar can be substituted for the harvested sugar, so that I'm not so worried about. One thing that does seem in rather short supply (for me anyways) is the magical thread. Its used in all the clothing recipes as well as bows, and takes 2 per recipe. I'm always running out . Patterns, on the other hand, are entirely too plentiful in my mind... I have stacks of them on the broker for 1c in case someone needs them, but since they are so plentiful I suspect that running out of patterns won't be any problem .

Um ... which vendor(s) are still selling sugar? The wholesaler instances don't have it, last I checked, though there may have been a stray missed somewhere after the LU24 cleanup.

LOL, I've been working on my provisioner on Live lately and she had a bunch of it on her still, I guess I just assumed it was still sold... silly me . I think someone else mentioned it in /test channel too! She still has stacks of creamcheese, yeast, and all those fungi too...

Needed the bag space. Though corn apparently counts as roots, so I'm using up all that.

And fungi for their appropriate tiers' roots, etc. Been like that since LU24

Have to agree on use of the magical thread, went thru 2 stacks real fast, but wasn't considering it short since I has between 2 and 3 stacks of it initially.

It should be definately interesting on the Live servers, although I am not sure how many players the zone will take before launching another instance. Seems like at one time with 16 people in zone, the nodes were becoming sparce.

Dye

Spring water is always in very short supply too.

Sugar I get tons of, limestone I hadn't noticed, but I do use them for fireplaces, but the spring water (and magical thread) seems far too rare.

Haven't found my sweet onion to make a roast bird for half a night of harvesting

For the onions and the apples, there's a way around that ... those are the same sweet onions as you harvest off T3 food nodes. (apples in T4)
