This crash is occuring whenever I try to access a bank on any character. I have deleted all my INIs, using the default UI, and did a complete file check with all optional downloads on for immediate download.EverQuest II has detected an unrecoverable error and must shutdown.E:deveq2frameworkcoredevicessrcDirectX9Re nderDevice.cpp )4549): DirectX Error. (D3DERR_INVALIDCALL)Since I'm unable to access my banks, I really can't play right now. If more info is needed for a fix, please ask and I'll provide it.

So um, yeah, this kinda fixed itself.I went hunting/harvesting on Magar for a bit, ran JBoots in Antonica, and when I called home I clicked on the bank without thinking and... it worked, no problem. Gonna try a few other things out (fresh login versus having zoned, and a few others) and report back.

And now it's back. Whenever I try to open Inventory or Mail I get the same error and game goes boom. Repeated twice already. This is on Magar and he's in Thundering Steppes. I can access the mender okay, got a few items repaired.Oh, and since I was casting Call of the Overlord when I foolishly tried to open my inventory, it's now used but I'm still in TS. I hate walking! So I arrived home in Stonestair Byway, went into Nepeta Cataria to collecting my broker earnings, then went to the bank to deposit them. Said a prayer and clicked... kaboom! So next step, deleted UI folder, deleted INIs (backed up my window positioning, etc. cause I hate to have to set it up again), and ran into a problem: zcal801b.ttf would not delete. So posting this now so as not to lose it then going into via command prompt to smite it.

Well, after re-downloading all the abovementioned, everything works fine. Guessing that font is used on the windows and it got corrupted. Carry on.

And it's all gone to heck again. This time all my previously mentioned fixes are not working whatsoever. I can, however, play on Live or Beta without issue on any character in any zone doing anything. I'm hoping and praying the next push to Test fixes this - or that somebody helps me track things down. I understand that laptops are NOT SUPPORTED, and I don't have this issue on my desktop... but without the ability to play at work, I can't justify $50/month (2 station access accounts) for a game I'll play maybe 2 hours a week.I have one last option I'm gonna try later tonight (delete TestServer directory except testeq2.exe, copy live files over, patch), but at this point my hope is pretty low.

After some considerable testing, I've narrowed down the problem to this:If I'm in full-screen mode, no problems. If I go to windowed mode, regardless of if I'm running EQ2 once or twice, I'll crash with the abovementioned error when I attempt to open inventory. So it's something to do with the way windowed mode interacts with my computer. If I knew more about DirectX, maybe I could find some sort of solution - even a temporary one - to the problem.Although I have to wonder, and maybe somebody knows, does multimonitor support allow me to run EQ2 twice in full screen, once on each monitor? Or does it still have to be windowed for that to work? Thanks,Magar

I honestly don't have an answer for your problem Magar. I just didn't want you to think you were being ignored.

I'm also wondering where all our technical geeks went?

Found the solution doing a search for the Direct X error number.Basically, the game can have issues if you put the graphics resolution at less than 0.7. I was using 0.5 since my laptop likes to stutter every so often with higher - but given the choice between not playing and stuttering, I'll take the stutter.
