Mob levels range from 26-28, by my memory, with Tseralith being 28^^^. "Searching the Depths of Fallen Gate" is the access quest, and is started from Illucide's Journal, a chest drop from most of the named mobs within Fallen Gate.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>The first step of the access quest requires that characters "find the tome Illucide wrote about in his journal", which according to the quest journal resides in the Academy of Arcane Sciences in North Freeport. Since the various named, 50^^^, see-invis mobs were added guarding the entry to the Academy of Arcane Sciences in North Freeport, there's just no way for level-appropriate Qeynosian characters to get into the Academy to get this update. My 34 Conjuror, who I'm trying to gain Vault of the Fallen access for, found no way to get past these guards - they are numerous, don't wander away, they see invisible, and are very, very angry that she's from Qeynos.  <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />  The remainder of the access quest simply requires various mob kills and item updates, all found within Fallen Gate proper.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>There is no such gate for Freeport characters to access the Tomb of Valor in Stormhold, a reasonable analogue on the Qeynosian-side dungeon. Freeport characters are able to do "A Key To The Past" to gain access to that instance, and Lord Chesgard.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>It is therefore my assumption that this gating for Qeynosian characters for Vault of the Fallen access was merely an oversight when the mobs were added outside the Academy.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><STRONG><FONT color=#66ff00>Workarounds:</FONT></STRONG></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>The only workaround I currently see is for Qeynosian characters to recruit the assistance of very high level friends to go and aggro all the mobs around the front and doorways of the Academy of Arcane Sciences, and run in while those mobs are occupied with the high levels. However, it is my opinion that level 24-34 characters shouldn't <EM>require</EM> the assistance of level 60+ characters to complete an access quest.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Attempting to rush past the mobs and feign death once inside the Academy far enough to pass beyond those mob's aggro ranges, for classes with feign abilities, seem doomed to failure as well - as that will attract a minimum of three 50^^^ named mobs who will almost certainly one-shot kill a mid 20's - mid 30's level character. Not all classes possess a feign death ability.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><STRONG><FONT color=#66ff00>Suggested Fix:</FONT></STRONG></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I recommend that the Concordium in South Qeynos send out a crack team to hunt down a copy of this rare tome that Illucide mentions in his journal to be added to the Mage Tower libraries, so that level-appropriate Qeynosian characters can also get this access quest update. One precedent for this has been set in the "An Ancient Desert Power" heritage quest from Sinking Sands, where characters must return to the libraries of their home cities to obtain a similar update.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

As an alternate solution, perhaps some sort of secret entrance could be added to the academy.Having to sneak around the enemy city with death as a consequence for failure is a great experience, and it would be a shame to totally eliminate it here - it might also be good to add it to the Stormhold quest, just to make things fair.Otherwise, that quest step is just fedex, and that really does nobody any good - players get annoyed, Devs get frustrated players.<div></div>

Of course this could be one of those quests that they only want freeportians to do,.. you know, like originally the stein of magok was only suposed to be for freeport, and the blue stone for ghoulbane was only suposed to be for qeynos. People will always find a way around things tho..
