I'm patching in right now so I haven't seen this in action, but it looks crazy from the comments here. No dispute over the AdPack requiring high level characters to test it, but what does that have to do with unleashing buffed 70ths on the general server? Surely all that needs to be done is to have the buffage active only in AdPack zones, with characters reverting to normal level when they leave. EQ runs a separate beta server for testing expansions, which seems to make a lot more sense than this. They also tend to lock out most of the zones outside of the expansion, because otherwise what generally happens is people who don't have high level characters on Live servers jump on the chance to try out high level zones they have heard about but not visited. I am well aware that there's an issue with both the EQ1 and EQ2 Test servers being treated almost as private, low-key playgrounds for a handful of players, and there has always been some truth in that argument, but the answer to that is to attract and hold a larger community that more closely replicates a Live server, not to open a high-level sandbox. With luck, this will all turn out to be a storm in a teacup, though, so I'm not going to get too excited about the sky falling until something actually raises a lump on my head.
