Ok guys i am at my wits end with this. I have tried logging in only to find that my graphics are blurred beyond recognition. Now it isn't affecting my windows so i can read all chat and text without problem, but for some reason the rest of the graphics when logged into everquest 2 are blurred. I have tried everything i can think of to fix this problem includding checking my monitor and my video card (as well as their drivers). I have changed all the options in the game and reset to default. I have tried deleting my character related files as well as fully uninstalling and reinstalling the game. I have also checked my directx to make sure that was up to date.

I know it is specifically related to this comeputer because I can log into my account on Discontinued's (my hubby) computer and play just fine. However when Discontinued decided to try DDO for fun I installed it on my computer to see if the graphics were affected by this same problem and found that DDO works just fine. So I think it may be something related to Everquest 2 itself.

Any help would be appreciated and this is making me want to scream.

Thanks in advance! :smileywink:

It sounds an awful lot like the drunk effects they just added. Maybe something is improperly making the game render in drunk mode for you...

Message Edited by Ceruline on 04-19-2006 01:21 PM

well sadly both Discontinued and I have tried basically everything we can think of to fix my graphics problem and it still isn't working so it looks like it is time to have a diagnostic done on the darn machine to see what is wrong. (Disco's comp and mine are exactly the same in specs and his is working fine) All i know is that while playing the monday before Easter my graphics were a bit messed up so i logged out. When i logged back in later on that day they look like a blurred mess and it hasn't worked since. I will let you guys know what turns out to be wrong, if anything... :smileysad:

If you screenshot, do they come out blurred? If so, might be helpful to take a screenshot and post, in case a.) One of us can come up with better advice or b.) Some SOE type can figure out what's going on from the screenshot.

Wow!

Those ARE messed up bad. The only time I've seen stuff like that was when my game was failing to render the zone correctly or just near the parts where the world seems to stop or drop out.

Not really sure what to tell you as far as a reason or a fix. Most times I would just log, reboot and it would fix it.

But it definately looks like a rendering issue.

Have you tried reseating your video card? maybe checking to make sure that everything is cooling correctly with updated drivers?

If you have updated the drivers, try rolling back to the last ones and see if that helps.

Sorry I cant be any more informative.

we tried switching vid cards and checking their seating, updated drivers and directx as well as restore points. I am not sure about the cooling issue as i don't know much in that area. i have 5 working fans in the system but hey thats all i know about it lol. thx for the reply Cim :smileywink:.

Did you update your video drivers prior to this happening or after the rendering issue?.

If before, then try rolling the drivers back to the ones that were working before. Its acting alot like it isnt seeing the full potential of the vid card. Kinda like you were using a low end style with only 64 mb of ramm in it. So something from the game is not seeing the card, or is not recognizing the settings or direct x settings.

You might want to post your screenshots in the tech help forums to see if they know what could be causing it.

http://eqiiforums.station.sony.com/eq2/board?board.id=tech_support

Bout all I can think of atm.

Message Edited by Kadurm on 04-23-2006 04:59 PM

Well we got it fixed (finally after 2 weeks of wanting to pull my hair out or take a sledge hammer to the comp). I had seen a suggestion in the Tech forums to try a program called ccleaner and decided it was worth a try. When it cleaned and repaired things it must have gotten rid of whatever was interfearing with my graphics because i logged into EQ2 after that and everything is working wonderfully (not to mention that my computer is running a little better hehe). Thanks for all the ideas guys and I am happy it is finally working again :smileyvery-happy:.

*Cheer*

Glad you got that fixed. Would still like to know what was causing it though.

I agree Cim...I would love to be less confused about what caused that mess. Especially because I wasn't the only one with that problem but it wasn't a common problem either hehe. Ah well as long as it stays away I will be more than happy :smileywink: :smileyvery-happy:
