The new writ status rewards hurt any chance for me and probablly many others from getting the larger houses and putting status items in them. Currently the large mansion in qeynos at % Erollisi Lane costs 250,00 status to purchase and with no reduction items 50,000 upkeep. At level 60 in a level 29 guild you get 2000 status per writ. Thats 25 writs just to cover the upkeep. Before LU19a it took 12 to 15 to cover the upkeep. To put a full set of elaborate tradeskill tables it took over 1,000,000 status point to purchase. While these are one time expenses I know personaly I have waited untill I could get a house that I could have enough of an item count to buy and place these. Really makes it pointless now. Please examine the cost of the houseing and the status items if this reduction to wirts is going to stay this way.

Labb Accident

<Children of War>

That's a rather dramatic dropoff! As a 55 Assassin in a 30 guild, last night I was getting ~5200 SP for every Freeport writ I did. That it should drop 3000+ points per writ in the next 5 levels is remarkable. And uncool. Of course, they only ever put the 50-55 writs in -- if we get the 55-60 and 60-65 and 65-70 writs, there shouldn't be a problem, I'd imagine...

We aren't yet done tweaking the status rewarded for the writs. This is still an initial implementation to get the writ system functioning in the manner we want it to, and further tweaks will likely be made to the status awarded for completion.

PLease consider looking at heritages too then. Many ppl have expressed disapointment now w/ no status for heritages that are "grey."

Thanks for the response Blackguard. Yes these need some work. I can understand that the live guilds that are hardcore raiders may not have the need for writs but the current values are a bit extreme. I am not really sure why its needed to lower the status at all honestly. With unguilded players now able to do writs I would think they should have the same chance as the rest of us to earn status and not be punished for not being a part of a raiding guild in order to gain enough status for housing, especialy when the really nice stuff has to be unlocked by guild level. Also as mentioned by Masburrito heritages should have been left alone. Currently any heritage quest completed with the killing of a grey mob yeilds 0 status both to the guild and to the player. Why is this change deemed nessessary? The heritage quests are some of the better quests and with the time and effort involved in them there should be no reason to not recieve the full reward reguardless of which level you complete them. With so few of the heritage items being useful to all the classes people who take the time to complete these quests should be rewarded. You should not lose the chance for a full reward just because you might have gained a level before you completed a quest. Please take a look at both these items and maybe even explain why some of these decisions are being made. Thanks

Labb Accident

<Children of War>

Test Server

Not really sure why you guys would reduce T6 writs but it really makes absolutely no sense to me. I mean at lvl 60 if you buy all the status avaialble items you are talking about Millions upon Millions of status points spent.

I mean lets just look at Horses, houses, Titles and items:

Buying the basic status items for your house (furniture, items, tradeskill machines and artworks) is nearly 7,500,000 status points

Horse is roughly 850,000 status points

Titles for lvl 30 and 40 are around 2,000,000 points

Formal wear is another 175,000 points

Houses cost 200,000 buyin and 50,000 roughly a week

I mean we are talking about nearly 10,000,000 status points SPENT !!!!

Now if we had to earn these points at the rate of 2100-2500 a writ, you are asking a person to run 4000 writs ... 4000 !! Even if you did 5 writs a night, 5 nights a week you looking at 160 weeks or 3 years to earn the basic points to buy these items. Now consider that the expansion schedule is 1 per 6 months, you will be 6 expansions behind when you finaly buy the Desert of Flames status items from the City Merchant. We wont even include items from Faction Merchants in this calculation.

This is a totally unreasonable timeframe. Did anyone take the time to run these numbers like I just have before this decision was made??

This is a REALLY bad change. It will not improve the game at all, it will just be adding another unscaleable wall for the average player in Everquest 2. You are essentially telling your playerbase that is you want to enjoy all the benefits of the status system in EQ2, you need to quit playing any other aspect of the game and exclusively just do writs day and and day out.

For example:

At level 33, there are no writs available from the mage guild and only one writ available from the qeynos guard

At level 37, there are no writs available from the mage guild.

The Writ system is not the only area to be changed.

Last night I finished the heritage quest for the SBH and got a whole whopping 3265 status points. WHat happened to the old status points?????

What a slap in the face! Can't you at least warn us to not do any heritage quests till the changes are done???

The writs from DoF curently give me roughly 2700 status at level 60 character and 29 guild, with the exception on the Concordium faction which is give 1000 less status for all writs, you only get 1700 status, can this be looked into? I don't see why 3 of the 4 factions are giving 2700 and 1 faction is only 1700 :smileyindifferent:
