I spoke in-game with Igram about this today, and he said I should /bug it. I'm also posting here for input form other Testers. Apparently in September or so, the way we get skill-ups was changed. So for example, if you're playing through level 50, when you ding 51 you'll spend your first few minutes getting a lot of "You get better at [Skill]! 248/250" messages. This is the case with my main, an assassin who just dinged 53. When I hit 53, I started getting all the (sorely-needed) skill ups in piercing, slashing, and ranged that I hadn't been getting for the last level. Okay. However, I didn't notice until I was at 52/53 that this had changed, because on my alts... it hasn't. My most-played alt is a 19 Druid / 30 Provisioner, and she still gets skill-ups the old-fashioned way -- and always has. I've only been leveling her as a crafter for about six weeks, so I've really been blowing through the levels and for every single one so far I've definitely gotten another point every 20% of my level. Right now she's 152/152 on Artistry and I have no doubt that when she hits 60% (like two combines away, hehe) she'll very shortly get 153/153 on Artistry as well. Out in the field, her adventuring skills are kind of lacking but while I was out playing today, working towards dinging 19, I got points XX/94 a bunch of times on the whole set -- subjugation, ordination, ministration, and focus. When I spoke with Igram, he said that it's supposed to work in chunks of 5 points at level up (why?) and that at some levels it's just not working right. But anyway, on Nimari it apparently hasn't worked right on any adventure or crafting level yet, so I was just wondering what other people were experiencing, and wanted to call attention to the fact that basically there are completely different systems on each of my characters. Edited to Correct: I was 5 points off, and I see now that what should be happening is you get all your level 51 points at the moment you ding 51, instead of spread out over five 20% intervals. That's a help, not a hinderance. But the fact remains that it's only working that way on my level 53 Assassin, not on my other toons, so the essential point still stands.

Message Edited by EtoilePB on 11-10-2005 05:06 PM

I know Grim just leveled and I've gotten all 5 points already at just into 4% of level. 58 now

Oddly I think mine have been happening the old-fashioned way as well on all of my characters. I know I am fairly sure my Woodworker I have been getting the skill-ups at the old mini-dings (every 20%), at least that I have noticed recently. I know for sure I am not getting them all at once when she dings a new level as I have gone from 27 to 42 in the past couple weeks and haven't seen that happen yet. Just thought I would add my input on this as well since I never even realized that they changed this hehe. :smileywink:

Hmm ok i'm confused. How is this supposed to work?On my character i'm fairly certain that the caps for my skills go up each mini ding. Isn't this the way its always been?
