This has been a very hard problem to explain. Whenever I and others have tried, we get the distinct impression no one knows what we are trying to say. So I will try to begin at the beginning. There are 6 crafting buffs. +progress/-durabilty, +progress/-power, +progress/-success, +durability/-progress, +durability/-power, +durability/-success. On my hotbar I have them set up with the +prog on the first line and the +dura on the second line. X = +prog O = +dura X X X OOO I most often use all the buffs in some combination during a combine. I (and others) have discovered a problem. But first let me explain. The duration on the crafting buff is slightly longer than the recast of the buff. So if you cast the buff you can have it queued up so that it will cast immediately and it will recast before the original buff expired. With me so far? It used to work that the new buff would cast and counter the event correctly. However a few months ago something broke and you could not switch between +dura and +prog because they would cancel the other buff and not register to counter the event. Some point after that you could go from +prog to +dura and it worked correctly (a new buff was cast and the event was countered) but you could not go from +dura to +prog (a new buff was not cast and the event didn't register you clicking anything). This last patch seems to have screwed up the buffs again. Certain buffs will work one way but not the other. And they are all over the place. This is gonna be tricky to explain. Technique Event +Dura to +Prog +Prog to +Dura BINDING Rip Yes No Weak Material No Yes Loose Weave No Yes FLETCHING Knot No Yes Kickback No Yes Mismeasurement No Yes GEOCRAFT Rough Edges Yes No Dull Luster Yes No Minor Density No Yes THAUMATURGY Negative Result No Yes Congeal Yes No Liquefy Yes No What the above means: For this test I loaded up my hotbars as usual. I started my combine and ignored all the events. I clicked on the +dura buff and immediately queued up the +prog buff. I then watched to see if the +durability buff icon in my spell effects window was replaced with the +prog one or if no new buff appeared. a Yes in the above chart means that a new buff replaced the old one, a No means that the old buff icon disappeared and no new one replaced it. I did each of them 3 times going from +dura to +prog. Then I used a +prog buff and immediately queued up the +dura buff and recorded my results. Each event listed above corresponds to a set of +dura and +prog buffs. Rip = +dura/-prog, +prog/-dura Weak Material = +dura/-power, +prog/-power Loose Weave = +dura/-success, +prog/-success Knot = +dura/-prog, +prog/-dura Kickback = +dura/-power, +prog/-power Mismeasurement = +dura/-success, +prog/-success Rough Edges = +dura/-prog, +prog/-dura Dull Luster = +dura/-power, +prog/-power Minor Density = +dura/-success, +prog/-success Negative Result = +dura/-prog, +prog/-dura Congeal = +dura/-power, +prog/-power Liquefy = +dura/-success, +prog/-success These are the skills I use all the time as a woodworker. I only tested these as they are the only ones I had loaded up on my hotbars. If there is something unclear about this post please let me know. I want to help get to the root of what is going on with these buffs. If anyone else has info to add PLEASE POST your test procedure and results so we can reproduce them.

The way I have noticed it is that going from low teir to high teir is ok, but switching back to lower you have to wait an extra second or so, or it won't count.

Looking at several crafts, it appears across the boards. I could not figure out any pattern why a buff sometimes would not counter. The worse for not countering seem to be in the Thermaulogy, woodworking, binding and geology common buff usage, although these should be the best skilled up fast since they are tied to the start of the tier level start for the required skill.

Also there is a have to reselect the buff table after each combine most of the time, even with the table in the select window th eentire time.

Dye
