View Full Version : Tradeskills - Apothecary - Instill not countering tradeskill events

<DIV>Amid the various threads pointing out bugs where countering tradeskill events is not working properly, I figured I would point out one case that is very easy to reproduce. Perhaps it might give the devs and coders a good starting point on fixing the entire thing.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Instill (a level 40 apothecary/thaumaturgy buff) is not working at all when I try to counter events with a matching icon. It is a durability buff. Other durability buffs appear to work okay. Other apothecary/thaumaturgy progress buffs work okay as long as you don't click them until they are no longer grayed out from the previous round. As far as I can tell, only Instill fails to work, consistantly. The matching icon (looks sort of like a blue dice thingy) comes up in the event window, you counter with Instill, and you (usually) get a failure round. It happens whether or not Instill is grayed out when you click it.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Edowen</DIV>

<P>Level 30 buffs seemed to go crazy this last weekend too. Not sure what was changes but it appeared the entire lineup of durability buffs were suspect, Can maintain durability with the level 30 buffs but with no progress. On more than one occassion, I kept this up long enough to pick up 30 to 40 skill upgrades, to no effect. but found after hitting the durability increase, suscess decrease buff followed by the durabity increase buff, then shift back to my level 20 buffs, I was able to complete the recipes to pristine with little difficulity. THe buff line with Durability increase /progress decrease seemed to be the culprit if placed in some combination. It would cancell all progress and leave it at zero. </P> <P>Tested this on scribe, alchimist, carpenter, jeweler, provisioner, and weaponsmith with the same effect to all them with the durability increase/progress decrease buffs. Definately wierd, but livable. Not sure what the fix would be. </P> <P> </P> <P>Dye</P> <P> </P>

Now that we have a little green or red square that appears after you try to counter an event (very nice, btw), I experimented with Instill again. When you use Instill to counter an event, you get a red box, even when you wait until Instill is not grayed out before clicking it. So, it appears that there is a problem somewhere that is causing Instill to not be appropriately associated with the events it is supposed to successfully counter. Edowen <div></div>

<P>Appears the Instill buff is stil broken. After observing it over time, it apears to me the buff is not countering nor does it have any benificial use as a buff. Wish we could get this fixed as it is a pain to make my chemicals having to use a lower buff in it's place. </P> <P> </P> <P>THanks</P> <P> </P> <P>Dye</P>
