<DIV>I have no problem (unilke some of wizardly brethern) with the changes allowing all roots a chance to break.  An unbreakable root is a wee bit overpowering.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Saying that, <P>Ring of Cold last 16 seconds.  As a single point root, this would be fine.  As an AE root, this is too short.  I would suggest changing this back to 36 second duration but keep the chance to break on damage.  This would allow us to park adds or take on multiple mob encounters (there are solo multiple mob encounters), but not give us free kills.</P> <P>With the increased DPS, roots are nice but not necessary vs most solo mobs.  They are vital on solo encounters and vs group mobs.  It would be nice to have ROC help with this.</P> <P>Jaly 50 test.</P></DIV>

Zindi and I have always used it that way as crowd control... root 3, kill 1 of them, move on to the next and it has worked pretty well like that (except those times I get 3 resists on 3 mobs). With the very short duration and long recast now, it is basically useless as a crowd control device as there is no way we are even going to kill the first mob before the other two have broken free.<BR> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>BTW, the type of mobs I am referring to are the advanced solo / small group encounter types, which were 3 linked mobs, no arrows.. although they are now one up arrows under the new con system.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Without some sort of effective crowd control, there is no way we can hunt these mobs anymore due to them beating us down way faster than we can them. One or two hitting us is manageable, all three though, causes way to much damage and interupts our spells to often to be able to effectively fight them.</DIV>

<DIV>I would agree with the above solution as well.  :smileyhappy:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>The only other complaint I have about the roots at this point is the recast on them. Why have such a long recast on such a short duration effect...even shorter duration if you do any dmg. :smileysad:</DIV>

I agree with the wizard root and as a user of the Warlock roots I feel a change to them needs to be made as well. Currently the recycle time or the length of the root needs to be adjusted. Currently with no resists to root or stun you still will have to melee the mob and get your next root off while being hit. None of the other mage types HAVE to melee a mob ever. Currently only the wizard and warlock HAVE to melee if they want to kill something. Give us another root, shorten the recycle time or give a 2nd stun. before the combat changes warlock and wizards also used 2 stuns on seperate times for most mobs. now at least the warlock has one
