<DIV>Was listening in ooc to several enchanters raving about how much fun they were having with the new charm. So I rolled up a kitty cat enchanter.</DIV> <DIV>Worked my way up to level 10 and then started experimenting.</DIV> <DIV>Can't recast it as in overwrite, it cancels and the charmed pet agro's on you while you're trying to re-charm it. Good for risk balancing.</DIV> <DIV>Some pets follow you some don't, animal pets never follow you. You run over to the mob you want to fight, and send your pet in and wait for it to show up.</DIV> <DIV>After the fight the pet will stand there and look silly for a short time (only a few seconds) then it will slowly meander back to the point where you charmed it.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Started experimenting with higher level mobs. You can charm and get experience with a pet that is 6 levels above you or lower, at 7 levels when you kill with it you get the message that you are to low a level in your group to get experience.</DIV> <DIV>I looked at the spell description and started wondering. I ran to thundering steppes and at level 10 i charmed a level 22 bear, had it attack a bug and ran off didnt stick around to wait for it to kill it. zoned out to antonica and of course lost my pet bear. Was fun to do even though i couldnt get experience from a kill with it.</DIV> <DIV>Then went and found myself a level 16 bear and had him kill off level 16 solo gnolls. I messed around with differant mobs but found i really like bears because they can maul the mob they are attacking and that seems to hold agro better.</DIV> <DIV>When I got to level 12, I took the griffon over to steppes station. </DIV> <DIV><STRONG>This is where i started messing with the way the mob acts.</STRONG></DIV> <DIV>I charmed a level 18 solo scarecrow, i ran over in front of blackburrow (notice 6 levels differance so i got exp) Targeted a level 11 triple up heroic darkpaw youth and had the pet attack. After a couple of minutes the scarecrow showed up and went to town on the youth Pow 15% experience one kill. I then zoned into black burrow and back out. Ran to the Scarecrow that was slowly walking its way back to the fields, when i got within agro range of it, it imediately ran back to the point it was at when i zoned into BB.</DIV> <DIV>Initially they are invulnerable after they get back to that point, so you have to wait for them to start walking again to recharm them.</DIV> <DIV>No I had a pet scarecrow with a full 10 minute charm. I took on a tripple up level 11 mystic, the pet kept agro the whole time with me throwing out what nukes and dots and stuns i had. Pow 15% exp, pet was really hurting though so i zoned into BB and back out did same as before to recharm pet. Pet was at full life / power.</DIV> <DIV>Then i sent him after a youth (level 11 triple up heroic) after pet killed it with me twiddling my thumbs it was low on power i had another mini ding and i sent it after another. </DIV> <DIV>Fast way to 13 , a little touchy, at level 13 i got roughly 11% per kill did this till i hit level 14 and then they turned green and i was getting 3% per kill. this was with no vitality at that point, with vitality and the exp bonus turned on its 6% per kill.</DIV> <DIV>Mind you this wasnt done without risk, it was extremelly risky, especially against casters, and adds drove me nuts several times and i had to run. and i died 4 times do to adds, but i made up the lost exp in one kill. But if i was fast enough i could run back get shard and recharm the pet before he got back to the fields, if i made to BB i then just had to run back out and recharm the pet again.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I have to admit it was fun, and there arent to many places you can actually do what i did, but technically under the circumstances 6 level differance between pet and chanter might be a little to over powered at that level. Though if one of those ^ ^ ^ level 11 mystics got to me i was definately toast in no time flat.</DIV><p>Message Edited by imbitten on <span class=date_text>08-09-2005</span> <span class=time_text>01:41 PM</span>
