Anyone else think it is a bad idea to have these 'reverse writs' dropping off of grey mobs?

I was running through Antonica last night on my 25 guard and stopped to kill a 'few' gnolls. I was very surprised to end up getting 3 blackened iron relics and a couple of documents for doing nothing more than standing in the middle of a camp of gnolls with imbued armor and weapon and slaughtering things.

Really no point in doing writs in Varsoons at my level if I can just scoop up points in Antonica from grey mobs.

Any way to put a TLC on these drops?

Sunrayn

My vote is to put them in chests and up their values. Maybe even double their values if chests don't drop as often as the body loot would.T2 - 100ptsT3 - 200ptsT4 - 400ptsT5 - 800ptsMy reasoning as to why they should be chest drops? I can't go to a writ giver and get a writ for grey mobs... why should I get status from grey mobs via this method?

they really arent worth farming.. the status they give is very little (like 12 guild status) so guilds wont by flying up in levels by farming them hehe.

I was posting more to illustrate the progression in points that I think would be worthwhile between the tiers (a 2x the previous tier multiplier). If they were changed to chest drops (added to the loot table, not to replace other loot), then maybe:T2 - 200T3 - 400T4 - 800T5 - 1600T6 - 3200Which would be quite a chunk of status. The 2x multiplier might be a bit much, even if they are limited to being chest drops. Writs are typically 1000 or so at level 10, and 4000 or so at level 50. Assuming that the T6 writs top out at around 5000 status, then the current progression might make sense (100/200/300/400/500?).So maybe:T2 - 200T3 - 400T4 - 800T5 - 1000T6 - 1200As it exists right now, in-game, the T3 drops are the ones to farm. They're worth twice as much as the T2 mob drops, but low-end T3 mobs are not twice as hard to kill as T2 mobs. So in an hour of farming low-20s mobs, you can easily end up with more status then if you mass-slaughtered T2 mobs.Change them to chest drops, and the temptation to farm for status loot goes away almost entirely. (Enterprising souls might use mentoring tricks, but that at least slows them down a bit.)

Nah, leave them drop as they currently are, off the bodies. The drop rate is low as it is. Don't do the chests unless you are going to give some appreciable amount of GSP. Besides, if chest or body drops, either can be farmed, so don't base the decision on if something can be farmed.

Still seems the language totems on the gnolls in TS drop at a rate equat to the pre-change rate, or even a bit more now. I thought this was to be decreased along with body parts from the LU#12 update

Score last night killing gnolls to raise herd faction;

~ 400 to 500 mobs, 2 and a half hours of killing

32 - canine tears

2 - incisors

7 - steel idols

5 - scrolls

3 - carbonite bars

4 gold igots

2 - polished agate

approximately 50 plus drops of the char totem for the language. THis was by far the most predominant drop.

Dye

As a note, was in Bloodlines last night behind the falls and seemed to me almost every vampire that had loot had a status item. I easily picked up 20 of various kinds in 30-45 minutes killing the grey vampires. I was looking for fangs but that’s another story. Drop rate to high? I don’t know because to me its just more junk but I can say for sure I don’t want to open 20 chests in 30 minutes with no real reward and getting all kinds of icky dots and booms from the traps. I have no desire to farm the items that give status because they give such a small amount but then I’m lazy. I might gather the strength to send them to a guild members when I get a stack.

I've been quizzing Akiic as he does his BBC quest... he's killing greys in Antonica. The current count is 2.5 hours, 27 drops, 540 mobs. Which is about 1:20 drop rate for those T2 mobs. So, 2700 status when he turns those in for 2.5 hours worth of work. (Which could be 5400 status if it was T3 mobs.)

Did it 3 times, for 24 kills each time. I also did some Pioneers because they were there and I want to hit 46 someday. So figure I killed 75-80 mobs. Each time I went back to FP to get the writ again, I had 2 or 3 of the Status Loot drops on me. I think it was 8 total, x400 = 3200 personal status (for the number of patrons Fhir had yesterday, I was contributing 17 points each to the guild).

I like the idea of status being available in a 4th way, but I'd like to see the items be worth a lot of status and be much rarer to find, I think.

Another thing we were discussing in guild chat today... the items now are sellable as regular loot (I heard values of 17sp to 64sp). So you can turn them in for coin, *or* exchange them for status (but not both). That will set a price floor on the items. We figured that if the 500 status items sell-back was 50sp, you would be unlikely to see them on the broker for less then 1gp. Which means to earn 4000 status (roughly 1 writ's worth), you'd need to spend about 8gp on the broker. I expect prices to be even higher on the live servers due to the demand for these. That cost is pretty high, and might be enough to balance out that these status items are tradeable. You would still be better off doing solo writs and earning the coin / drops / xp then by trying to buy status from the broker.(I still think they should be no-trade... but giving them reasonable values as coin loot helps to keep them off of the broker.)

Final counts for the 1000 mobs from Akiic:55 drops, 4 hours, 1000 mobs - 1:18 frequency and 5500 status.
