<DIV>I enjoy crafting and would like to be able to give precise and well-founded reports and feedback about it. Unfortunately, for certain aspects of crafting, it is difficult to do this using information that the game reports to you. For example, this weekend several of us were talking about the relationship between failure ticks and crafting skill levels. I would have liked to record how many failure ticks I get in various circumstances, but there are no text messages (the kind that show up in one of your regular chat windows) that say what happened in a given tick. The numbers that float up above a crafting station don't appear anywhere else; there is no way to scroll back and see what happened, and during crafting is not a good time to try to take notes.:smileywink:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>One way for me to get a record would be to sniff the packets on my LAN. I have another PC running Linux. It would be simple to capture EQ2 packets with a tool like Ethereal, and go back and analyze what is happening at my leisure. However I do not do this because my reading of the EULA would forbid it. Am I being over conservative? Please say if doing this sort of thing would be okay.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>More generally, it might be a nice idea to add the tick results to the tradeskill messages. We get blow by blow battle spam in the game. It would be consistant to have tradeskill tick messages too. People enjoy parsing battle damage. They might also enjoy parsing tradeskill combines. It also might help silence people who cry, "Ninja tradeskill nerf!" seemingly with every update.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Just my two cp waiting for Test to be unlocked.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Edowen</DIV><p>Message Edited by Edowen on <span class=date_text>06-13-2005</span> <span class=time_text>12:58 PM</span>
