View Full Version : A couple bugs that have been around a while

<DIV>Just wanted to make sure you guys have not forgot about these bugs as they still haven't been fixed:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>1) When assisnting someone in melee combat (IE, auto attack is on, you have another player targeted) allows you to easily assist a main tank with melee attacks.  Unfortunately, auto-attack does not drop when the encounter is completed except for the main tank.  The person assisting's auto-attack will not automatically drop when the last mob dies.  This bug has been present since launch.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>2) Charmed/feared player characters.  You cannot purge the effects of charmed/feared player characters with effects apporpriate to remove these effects because the game will not allow you to target or cast on that person.  While under the effects of a charm, the player will attack you, but you cannot target it to remove the charm.  This bug has been present since launch.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>3) Single target timed buffs:  Timed single target buffs were supposed to be changed so you could hover the mouse over the effect in your concentration window and see who the buff was targeting.  This has never been the case as long as the feature has been around.  When you hover the mouse over the buff in your concentration window, you simply get your own name to pop up "target:<yourname>" and not the real target's.  This bug has been present since...oh, I wanna say LU 5.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>4) Cycling through mobs of a particular encounter.  Supposedly the <default setting tab key> will allow you to cycle through mobs in an encounter.  Unfortunately, there seems to be little rhyme or reason to who the cycling selects.  Often times, pressing the key will just jump between two mobs in the encounter and leave the others difficult to target.  This bug has been present since launch.</DIV>

<DIV>To add to #1, if a toon is on /follow with someone, and the toon is also attacking (since it never turned off from a finished fight), the /follow toon will just go running off in random directions when the toon being followed begins to move.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>/follow has also never worked in water worth a darn (toon will not /follow along the Z axis), but with the changes to /follow (how the /follow toon swings wide on corners, etc), causes /follow toons to circle submerged /follow targets.  This of course causes spell interruptions etc.</DIV>

<P>#1 is pretty annoying, especially when combined with the run off at 90 degrees thing.</P> <P>#3 gets my vote for most annoying. It gives NO extra information, so I end up casting my 2-3 buffs on each party member since I can't tell who dropped.  As far as I know this has not worked correctly since implementation.</P>

<P>Great post!  Wanted to add to #1 that for some reason the person assisting will retain the corpse as a target even after the corpse is long gone and the person being assisted no longer has it as a target.</P> <P>#3 is exceptionally annoying.  What adds to the confusion when certain buffs don't drop when a group member leaves.  The only specific example I can think of now is Infuration.  Yes, the description says it stays up till cancelled, but doesn't a group member leaving have a cancelling effect on buffs?  I can never figure out which icon belongs to the person no longer there and have to cancel all and recast.  Mostly I just don't use the buff because of this.</P> <P>#4 might be related to the fact that you can't tab to choose a mob that the game thinks is behind you (even if the mob's toon is in front of you).  Had problems with this in Feerrott down by the lake outside CT the last couple days.  Mobs, especially the terror wraiths, would get slightly above me and the only thing I could target would be the patch of fungus or fish beyond them.  NOT what you want to have happen while tanking!  The alternative of cranking the camera view mid combat so you're looking through your feet and trying to manually select is just as bad.  Tab needs to work more consistently for sure.</P>

<DIV>Here is one I forgot, and a new bug...</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>5) Boxes.  Your bank boxes no longer remember where they were the last time they were opened and closed.  I have my boxes arranged so that they open in specific locations on my screen.  This used to work PERFECTLY so that I knew exactly which box i was placing items and out of.  Since around live update 6(ish) they have ceased to function like this properly.  The boxes will now randomly move up or down the Y axis on your screen.  They seem to remember where they were placed in reguards to the X axis, but the Y axis is definately busted.  </DIV> <DIV>To reproduce:  Fill you bank with boxes and you inventory with bags.  Arrange your open bags, boxes, and shared boxes on your screen so you can see them all when they are all open.  Close them, log out of the game completely, log back in.  You will notice that your boxes have shifted along the Y axis but *should* remember where they were along the X.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>6) Fonts and Chat Windows:  This is not an old bug, it actually just came about.  Evertime I log in my font is set to something other than what I wanted it at.  I usualy set my font at 18, but everytime I log on, it resets to 21.  Also, this only happens on my fury, but everytime I log on my chat window is gone and I miss any MOTD's that I would have normally observed.</DIV>
