Worked for us.  One guy made 44 and it showed up. <div></div>

From Osen, since she is too lazy to type it up herself... Check to make sure that the autopromote guild bug isn't causing that person's "Do not generate events for this character" to be checked.  Mine (Osen's) was checked even though I (she) didn't check it. <div></div>
