View Full Version : Client version does not match the servers
Server is up according to the patcher.Every time I run the patch it re-downloads AssetsLib.vplI then get Clent Version does not match the server error.Run the patcher, same, every time.So I watch my directory. AssetslLib.vpl is there, at one size. It downloads and is replaced by a smaller size version. When the program launches it's replaced again by the larger size version.[23:43:14] Patcher: Checking File: AssetsLib.vpl[23:43:14] Patcher: --- Refreshing cache for file.[23:43:14] Patcher: --- File Discrepancy S for [EverQuest 2 Main Files] AssetsLib.vpl: local 5315876, server 4761661[23:43:14] Patcher: Checking File: AssetsLib.vpl[23:43:14] Patcher: --- File Discrepancy (Size) Confirmed. <DIV>This is common when they are still loading patches. It will usually clear up by the time they are all done. <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV>

yah...it looks like the server is looking for the old 1637T client, but the patcher hooked us up with the brand spankin new 1649T data.someone just needs to resync the server up with the new stuff instead of sync'ing it to the Live server dataif you copy your 1637T everquest2.exe over to your Test folder and run it you'll notice that you can log straight into character select...... almost... the exe crashes out to desktop because it's accessing incompatible data in your Test folder =)if you REALLY need your fix, you can copy all the old files from your Live folder into the Test folder and it should run just fine as long as you don't patch it and just use the everquest2.exe to load the game (assuming the servers are up). but i'm not that desperate since it won't even be using the new patch goodness. =(anyways, who knows if they are even still around to fix it. probably just gonna have to wait until friday

<DIV>Sorry about that. I made a call, hopefully it's cleared up soon.</DIV>
Thanks, Moorgard. The bed calls me now, however. <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />Yaen, there's an easier way to do that. Just as a thought experiement I'll post it here.Go to the EQ2 folder, find eq2_default.ini, rename it to old_eq2_default.iniFind the cache folder, rename it to old_cacheGo to the testserver folder. Find eq2_default.ini, copy it to your eq2 folder. Also copy the cache folder to your eq2 folder.run EverQuest2.exe, sign in, and voila. Instant game fix. It's really easy to revert your live folder back when done. Just delete the two moved items from your eq2 folder, then rename the "old_" items back to normal.
