This imp that gives the INT buff dies easily to combat. I constantly have to recast this...several times a night, if I don't keep him anchored away from fights.A simple nuke by a green con shadow grove mob...one of those large wisp things..that hardly touched me killed it in one shot.
Message Edited by Brigh on 11-17-2006 02:40 AM

all the diety pets are like this, my cazic thule pet dies every AoE or when i trigger a auto aggro mob.

Yes this is a problem, and with the cast time that it takes to bring up this pet its very frustrating. There is also another problem with this pet, for some reason it takes the slot of my main pet. Meaning, whenever I cast my Dreadnought, Nightshade, or Grim Heretic it brings up a pet box, well this pet box no longer belongs to my main pet when this Sol Ro pet is around for some reason. And further testing showed whenever I cast Consumption the Sol Ro pet takes the spell and not my main pet. I would cast the spell Consumption and I could see the effect swarm around the Sol Ro pet and not my main. I will now have to check to see if my pet buffs are being misplaced now that i think about it. Have already done /bug for this, but saw this thread and thought i'd get it out there for other Summoner people to comment on as well.

I think the diety pets, hooloos, aviak hatchlings, gazers, zygomyds, and any other pets there just for a visual should be considered 'visual buffs' so they cant be killed in combat because..they arent combatting..they dont do anything but follow you

Sorry to rain on your parade for a better pet, try playing a mystic or defiler without AAs towards keeping the pet alive!

The last thing I want to start seeing is people, other than pet classes, running around with pets that live longer than mine!

can avoid the problem on imp pet dying to easy.cast it and order to stay in a place, not have a range check, so u got the +INT benefit and not need the pet following you and laging our friends in fights

Message Edited by gitano on 11-17-2006 03:06 PM
Honestly, I think they should be changed into just a buff, rather than a stupid pet. While the pet is cool, it is completely cumbersome and with everybody having 1, the lag that is added is huge.

strange, never had a problem with the pet droping on zone during beta. These are also recastable during a battle. Main reason these die on one hit is,.. check out thier lvl.. a lvl 1 pet isn't going to live very long outside of the starter areas.

Depending on what type of weapon you're wielding, these familiars provide 2% aggro reduction, 2% spell crit, etc. These familiars never die or disappear, unless their caster dies. The issue with the pet controls affecting all pets is something I told the QA on Test a long time ago (as in months). Nothing has been done. Pet classes (of which enchanters are at least a semi-variety of) really need to have a separate control for their main pet from any other pets. Cazic-Thule has a blessing that gives me a 10 minute charm, presumably without using concentration. If I have two mobs charmed, one via the blessing and one via my charm spell, I want to be able to handle them independently.

I agree with Harvash. Shaman pets are pretty much buff bots.

It is true these new deity pets are more like the mage pets in that they really only provide a buff, the rest is just fluff. But if this is the case why not just have the buff as Pinski and others suggested and just get rid of the pet.

Its fun to look at them now, but in a couple of weeks or days it will get old and people will begin to harp on them just cluttering up the game.

If he stands on the sidelines, how do those buffs get to all the group members that are in melee combat with the mob? Sounds to me that mystics that send their pet in to do battle aren't really looking for the dog to do massive damage, but trying to get it in buff range for the guys hammering at the mob. /shrug~Sir Hawke Holyblayde, Hero of Maj'Dul
