This is totally stolen from: http://eqiiforums.station.sony.com/eq2/board/message?board.id=13&message.id=28578Please consider playing a Templar before wasting a skill branch on a spell rarely used. Let alone punctuate the lack of class familiarity by making a spell that debuffs SHORTER as a bonus. Yes you make the damage happen faster yet the WIS debuff serves more of a funtion then the damage itself. There are a great many classes that still use an love the Bloodlines lvl 35 Spell. Could we please be one of them. Please look into this. Perhaps make the Adept3 version do more then 3 more points of damage then the Apprentice, or perhaps not include this waste of a spell in the branch upgrades.Thank you.Cut-Paste----------<div>Enhance: Symbol of CorruptionHoly Smites</div> <div>Hastens the casting speed and reduces the power cost of Symbol of Corruption. This enhancement also hastens the effect's duration, causing damage to occur faster.</div> <div> </div> <div>Rank 1Reduces power cost by 10%Reduces duration by 2 secondsImproves casting speed by 0.1 seconds</div> <div> </div> <div>Rank 2Reduces power cost by 20%Reduces duration by 4 secondsImproves casting speed by 0.2 seconds</div> <div> </div> <div>Rank 3Reduces power cost by 30%Reduces duration by 6 secondsImproves casting speed by 0.3 seconds</div> <div> </div> <div>Rank 4Reduces power cost by 40%Reduces duration by 8 secondsImproves casting speed by 0.4 seconds</div> <div> </div> <div>Rank 5Reduces power cost by 50%Reduces duration by 10 secondsImproves casting speed by 0.5 seconds</div> <div> </div> <div>I currently have this spell at Apprentice IV because I never use it. That is my own personal choice. However, with this enhancement at Rank 5, the duration has been reduced from 24 to 14 seconds and it inflicts 40-49 divine damage every 2.3 seconds. That is a maximum of 298 damage.</div> <div> </div> <div>Without this enhancement, it inflicts 40-49 divine damage every 4 seconds for 24 seconds. That is a maximum of 294 damage.</div> <div> </div> <div>This spell also has a debuff effect and decreases WIS of target by 30 but the AA does nothing to enhance this aspect. Could it possibly be remotely useful if it did?</div> <div> </div> <div>This spell is level 35 and it originates from the adventure pack "The Bloodline Chronicles". Why is there an enchancement provided for a spell that will never have an upgrade?</div><div></div>

<P>Although i have actually used this spell at times i agree that this AA line is a complete joke and waste of space :smileymad:</P> <P>1- why is an AA line being done for a completely optional spell from an adventure pack ?</P> <P>2- increase in casting speed is laughable for a spell that a) isnt very good, b) isnt one of our longer cast anyway.</P> <P>3- you're REDUCING the duration by HOW MUCH !!!!! the mind simply boggles at this. What is the point of using it at rank 5 then ????</P> <P>4- power reduction, again pointless as power cost on this spell is negligble for any self respected reasonably geared templar.</P> <P>5- err what was the point of this line again ???</P> <P>Come on SOE - you can do a LOT better than this :smileytongue:</P> <P> </P>

wow lol, when a spell's duration gets reduced it means it's going to do more damage in a shorter time., but all the same damage, the intervals are cut20seconds, 5 times, 4secx4 160 damagereduced by 5 seconds, 15secs, 3.75secx4=160 damageyou do the same amount of damage in 15 seconds then you would in 20, wow , you saved 5 seconds (which can IMO be vital)and this is just in emphasis, no spell in particular that I know of is 20seoncds, 5 times etc.<div></div>

<P>Wow... I feel your pain. THey did the same thing to Troubs, with Zander's debuff... I'm not certain they botched it that badly because since the spell never upgrades and grey's out, I figured just reading the description was a waste of my time.... That they don't even know where their spells originate from and implement this sort of things suggests that they just don't know these classes the way they should, you're right about that.</P> <P> </P>
<P>It seems several classes get an 'upgrade' to a spell from Bloodlines. So far I have seen Templars, troubadors and wardens get such an AA upgrade in EoF. I wonder if it's a general thing?</P> <P>Edit: Changed Splitpaw to Bloodlines because I'm tired, old and thought my spell was from Splitpaw instead of Bloodlines.</P><p>Message Edited by Liljna on <span class=date_text>11-13-2006</span> <span class=time_text>03:38 AM</span>

<blockquote>wow lol, when a spell's duration gets reduced it means it's going to do more damage in a shorter time., but all the same damage, the intervals are cut</blockquote>You're missing the point. The spell is a DoT/debuff, and the debuff is the more important component for many people. When the period over which damage is inflicted is shortened, it also shortens the period over which there's a debuff. That's what people are complaining about.
