Just a thought. If imbuing is on the way out and glowing/lambent/etc materials become irrelevent then can we expect a greater incidence of harvesting "true" rares?

I doubt it.I don't know for sure but I expect the mechanic is something like X % chance to pull imburing item and Y% chance to pull a "true" rare (loam / ore / pelt / root / gem / metal). So if they remove the glowing, sparkling, glimmering, luminous, lambent, and scintillating items I'd assume that just still leaves you with Y% chance to harvest a rare item from each pull on a node.(And it must be based on each attempt, because since the harvesting changes many of us have had that stupidly lucky node that gives a 10+rare, then another rare, then an imbuing item...)

Although I really hate how cheap SOE is getting, I have to admit that not getting the message "You found a rare: Lambent Stone", or whatever it was is going to be a blessing on my keyboard.

If imbue recepies really are being removed from the game, and I don't think I've seen actual confirmation of that, why not leave the imbue items (scintilaing stone, glowing flower, etc.) in the nodes but tag them fabled. This way they can be used for transmuting mana vials which seems to be a highly contentious issue over in the tinkering/transmuting thread. The drop rate should probably be made more rare though if this is done.

Granted, I don't know if imbue recepies are really being removed, and I don't know if the fabled issue with transmuting is the "end of the world" scenario that everyone is making it out to be, but this would seem to be an easy fix to both issues without much work.

So....just to summarise....

SOE "confirmed" that they would be removing the imbues.

uh......hang on.....

NOW they've "confirmed" they will be putting them back with the rider that no more imbued recipes will be created in future.

Well....I for one am not holding my breath that this is the end of the story. Ever the realist, I believe that this is SOE's way of diverting the hostile reaction that removing the imbued recipes created. They're life is now limited....imbues are "dead men walking". Once we get used to to adornments I think we'll find imbues are quietly removed permanently.
