Many RPers would imolate themselves to get such animations full time.

That would rock so hard if they could do it. I know my little ratonga would be breaking moves all over the place.

I fully agree that would be totaly sweet but i highly doubt it that they would that would mean that they would do something we want and that dont happen.

Sometimes this is good other times its bad (depending on how you look at it)..but they always listen... just because they don't do everything people ask for don't assume they don't do things for their players.

I think it would be really cool if you could. I originally got the impression you could, but then tried it and found you had to be "learning to dance".

The troll one is pretty funny. At least, if you're playing a bard.

Yes, please let us keep the four new dance moves. Those would come in handy for just playing around with people. The turn one is so freaky because your head twists all the way around your neck!Othesus - Dirge - Lucan DLereVaspar - Fury - Lucan DLere

I'm sad that this thread has no developer or SOE responses. I have had to sit and wait for spawns to advance in the Sword of Destiny and Claymore questlines now for approximately 4 hours now (for myself and others) and I know i'll be doing it for longer, so you can see why i'd have reason to dance when that random rare spawn appears instead of his more common and mundane form. People stand around and converse all over the world, and more dramatic animations like these do much to elevate the atmosphere of these places. I'm sure that on the roleplaying servers, there are plenty of social functions that would benefit from these dance moves. Screenshots and videos of epic monsters slain or picturesque venues could be enhanced many times over with a little choreography. You might even see more entertaining post-gank animations instead of only the very popular atm teabagging... well, mabye not that is hard to top in these 'family friendly' type games. I've just outlined several reasons which can positively improve the game for a very wide audence of EQ2 subscribers... those who would utilize the moves and those who would witness them. Is there some technical reason they aren't being implemented, or is it simply because not enough people have thought to ask for them? Only subscribers who were here on halloween are even really aware that the dance moves existed, and likely most players deleted them once they realized they could only be used in the haunted house instance. I'd really like to know why we cant use them.

The only reason I can think of for removing these emotes is that the devs are planning on adding better dance emotes (not just single racial dances like the Fae and Arasai) and these will be more easily added after the skeletal revamp. If you find yourself waiting for steps in the Claymore quests you may want to just wait until GU 37.
Quests in the Claymore and Infiltrating lines in the Sanctum of the Scaleborn as well as Barren Skies and Palace of the Awakened that targeted rare named mobs have been modified to also update on their place holders. A couple quests have been modified to target new mobs in the same rooms to accommodate these changes.

The Bowels of the Bonemire quest, in the Claymore quest line, been modified to update on the new place holder mobs as well as the original named mobs that were required for the quest.
Othesus - Dirge - Lucan DLere Vaspar - Fury - Lucan DLere

On July 12th eq2.allakhazam.com help a live dev chat on IRC.

I raised the question of dance moves there and had this response:

[Raven] A lot of people in game have commented that the older races have silly dances compared to the Fae - will new dances be added soon? [Lyndro] Again I'll answer for Lotus, since he's not here. Racial dances are something that he wants to add for sure. There's no ETA, but its something you can look forward to.

For those who may have missed the chat the log can be found at this url:

http://eq2.allakhazam.com/sdetail.html?story=9776

And on a side note just to prove we do ask the burning questions of the day - also from the same chat:

[Raven] Okay the big question now..... is the Arasai dance based on the South Park goth character dance? [Feconix] Its based on AWESOME! * Grimwell shuffles over slumped shoulders * Grimwell cackles [Gallenite] Busted.
