I was deeply saddened to see that last year's events have been recycled.

The haunted house is the same, except for the reward and an improvement to the dancing part.

Trick-or-Treating is exactly the same. I'm not sure about the rewards, because I wasn't going to waste my time to find out.

If the rewards are the same though, what fun is that for the people who did all of this same stuff last year?

My main has every mask from last year's events... I know the Ponchy quest line for Halloween has a new reward this year, a bone structure.

MaelieJade
10-09-2006, 08:17 AM

that's the additional reward for the haunted house. The haunted house itself is exactly the same as last year, except the dancing part is different.

in the haunted house you can get the skull mask by simply examining the skull on the bar in the dineing room

There is also a new reward at the end of it in the form of a new mask, and the trick or treating has 2 new mask for the grand prizes. Not saying what they are though, but the antonia and lucan mask have been removed and replaced with these new ones.

Never hurts to give it a shot just to see if anything is changed.

Question I have is when will it be live in the game instead of on test only?

Would it be possible to mount those masks in your house, much like the Heritage items? cos atm they are just taking up inv space.

Ever hear of tradition ? Isn't that the way it is in RL ? Go out on Halloween night every year that gives you the same thing...candy ring a bell ? You have missed the whole point of Halloween...it is there to have fun, most people seem to have fun regardless if it is the same ol thing you get every time you go trick or treating.:smileymad:

Not sure how it is in your house, but in my house, most of the decorations we used last year get used this year, aside from the new ones we bought this year to add to our collection.I don't see alot wrong with this, just enjoy it or skip it, just don't whine about it.

No, the quests are stale. Already did the quests last year and was able to pass the others from rote memory. The rewards have already been done. I don't want GIANT candycanes either. Those sucked.

Nights of the Dead are live as of today, and the patch notes say they go right up to LU29 (no date when that will be though). For the record, the Ponchy quest did change the reward, its no longer the pitchfork, its now a bone thing that is not exactly the same as the haunted house item, but very similar (and the change has been live for about 2 weeks). You should be able to do it a second time if you did it last year. The 2 new masks don't take that much work to get really, you do probably need a speed enhancement of some sort though to get around fast enough to hit up as many npcs multiple times as possible. Also, be sure to delete the items he doesn't want before you turn in, it will help your score . Can you say lag in North Qeynos? :p

Tradition is no argument for recycling. I liked the haunted house thing. But why do we get exactly the same location again? Why not a haunted mansion (!) with a different story? Or a halloween party with a murder to solve? What about a tunnel of horror? There could be many options for halloween events. Recycling of the same thing is just lazy. And so much i liked the masks, I didn't like the running part at all. Trick or treat? There could be another solution for this game as well.

Oh, I'm sure they are always occupied with something, but isn't so everybody? If you are waiting for your version of EoF, and it will not be delivered in time... I'm really curious what you will say then... Curse the stupid postman, Amazon or whatsoever? No I'm sure you are an understanding person in every situation of life. Isn't it so?Would be great if everybody could be like that. What a peaceful world we would have then.I like Fans! Has anyone gotten the two new masks yet?... Any pictures of the two new masks available?.... Also, on the official EQ2 newsletter l received today showed a character with a what looks like a squid/cuttlefish (similar to pumpkin mask) mask on the head... Wondering if it is one of the two maskes for the trick-or treat rewards...

One is a nightblood, the other is an amygdalan (Fearknight arena pet, or fearfiends from CT, if you know what those look like.)

I just did the Haunted house last night. The changes from last year are lame. The spiders and rats are non-aggro and [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn] is with that dance crap. I want to roleplay not play tetris. :smileymad:

I guess the Xmas stuff will be reused too.

For a freebee event it was ok. I got my two new masks and did the haunted house, I liked the new candles. Would have been cool to keep the dancing abilities permanently just to goof around with. Was a bit disappointed in the lack of a quest event but I can see cutting them some slack. I would imagine they are in Crunch at the moment trying to get EOF shipped. Were it not for this I think we would have seen a few more new ideas. But I have to agree with the assessment from earlier it is a tradition much the thing new costume some new kinds of goodies go see a haunted house or hayride, take the kids to get pumpkins decorate the dwelling. I would like to see something like a more inclusive event and a new quest event each year.

For instance

Give folks the ability to /claim a candy/trick generating item and allow people to trick or treat at player housing. Make the candy a 20 second buf that makes the players glow orange or green and the trick would be some random thing like the NPCs do.

Plus add a new nifty adventure quest.

Message Edited by Azarphan on 10-25-2006 01:00 PM

If you reside in Qeynos, where do you go to find the Haunted House everyone here is referring to?

The Ironforge Estate in North Qeynos, down near the Elddar Grove zone out. Talk to the goblin standing near the front door.

Nightbloods are big monsters with horns that look kinda like this. They are in various zones, including the northern end of Enchanted Lands.CT is the Temple of Cazic-Thule, which is located in the Feerott Zone. The amygdalen are found there.
Message Edited by Eveningsong on 10-25-2006 03:08 PM

They are from the Nights of the Dead events... trick or treating specifically. You get offered a variety of mask rewards depending on how many points you earn from collecting candy. These are the highest level rewards and the only new trick or treat masks this year I believe.

Once again PLS make these masks mountable items to display in your house. They are only taking up inventory/bank space at the moment. I would be fun to have them on a wall.

Thnx Ikikik

Troubador with air-guitar. (you see. we do get instruments)
