It is not just custom UI's. I use the deafult UI and I had to delete the ini file to get mine to stop crashing after GU27.

Try adjusting your graphics resolution to 0.65 or higher...You can find this by looking in the Display Options, under the Performance section, underneath Triple Buffer.
