<DIV>We all know it's possible for quest rewards to be given through the mail.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Anyone who helped build the spires by contributing at least 10 sky essences and/or 10 tradeskill items for the spires knows that with the Titles they were rewarded with from the mail.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Anyone who participated in the Gigglegibber Scavenger Quest for Bristlebane Day (April Fools Day) knows this from the furniture item (or the angry complaints) they got from the mail.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Well then. You've added crafting stations all over the inner cities. You've added clipboards for us to do writs with, but you did NOT add an NPC from which we can get the writs from.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>If we want to do Ironforge or Coalition writs, we gotta go down into a tradeskill instance and ask them.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>If you have to go to them to do it, then you might as well just do it right there in the tradeskill instance, because it's a complete waste of time to go to the middle of south qeynos, complete it there, then run all the way back to turn it in.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Here's my idea: Let us request for writs from the mail system.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>To: "Ironforge Exchange"</DIV> <DIV>Subject: "Request Writ"</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Hit send.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>A few minutes later you get a response containing a letter that goes in your inventory. You inspect the letter and you are offered which type of writ you want to complete. You finish your writ, inspect the letter again, and mail it back. A few minutes later, you get another letter with your compensation money and faction.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>This way, players can complete writs from thier homes or the inner cities without needing to run around to the tradeskill instances to get them.</DIV>

Its an interesting idea, but it would also require them to change the mail delivery time from the current approx. 30 minutes otherwise you could have run to an instance and back a couple of times doing writs. I'm still hopeful that they'll add new NPCs for writs and books into the city areas, but if not I guess we do writs in instances and use the new areas for general crafting needs. It does seem pointless to add in a purchasable writ clipboard if you have to zone several times after you get a writ from an instance just to get back to your house to do the actual crafting. But having a writ NPC in a zone where you live makes it much more useful, as you'd only zone once back into your house.

<DIV>Well, there are special cases (like the gigglegibber quest I mentioned) where you got the response immediately and not 30 minutes later.</DIV>

<div></div>There were other changes that Glendral mentioned during the playtest, but he said they wouldn't make this update. <strike>These changes were similiar to the stuff mentioned above</strike>. Let's wait and see what pops up on test next week. I doubt you'll see too much get done with mail that involves the economy. If you're going to mail out for the writ then you'd probably want to use the mail for the turn-in. There's just too much room for abuse and exploiting when the mail system gets involved. It's not just that the abuse could happen,  it did happen. It was a week of hell for those addicted to EQ2. I remember SoE actually gave out some free days during that period to compensate for the downtime. I for one would insist that SoE rethink an idea, 4 times or more, that involves the mail system. [edit] my bad, the changes are not similar. <div></div><p>Message Edited by Ebjelen on <span class=date_text>10-05-2006</span> <span class=time_text>05:45 AM</span>
