<DIV>I feel sooo dumb.  I've got the darkpaw sniffer in BB and he does fine until he loses the tracks.  So I tell him 'this way' and we end up just walking up and down one of the tunnels--back and forth.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Please help me!  What am I doing wrong?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Linnette</DIV>

<DIV>Use your imagination, in what general direction is he going. If he stops, and can't go anymore, then what you seek is up, or down from where you are. Think about the sniffer like the trail we used to get for a corpse run, or the trail we get when we /waypoint something. If you run into a mountain with the trail, your "lost the scent", but you know you have to go to the other side. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I wont spoil the spot you have to go to, but just remember to use your imagination.</DIV>

Regardless of what direction I face when the tracker loses the scent, he goes in the same pattern each time and finds nothing. I would really like some specific assistance here and not some suggestion that I use my imagination.

Once the sniffer has stopped the first time, move around in the general direction he was going until you receive a "hint", which will let you set him on the trail again. You'll need to do this a few times, and as I recall at one point the sniffer actually went too far and you need to backtrack a bit to pick up the trail again. Just walk around the area and watch for the text that tells you when you find the trail again. At one point the trail will end at something large that you'll need to pass by to find the npc you are looking for.

I agree, it is rather confusing trying to find the trail again. It took me a while to complete that part, and I got quite frustrated by the end. Perhaps the devs could look at tightening that up a bit, so you get the hint text a little closer to where the sniffer loses the trail? That way you don't have to run all over looking for it. That said, Danna's hint is correct. The sniffer appears to be going in a general direction, so when he loses his trail, if you'll keep going in that direction, you'll pick it back up again. I hate to post anything more specific before the quest even hits Live, but if you want to know exactly where you're going, PM me and I'll tell you the location in a PM. <span>:smileywink:</span><div></div>
