With all these great game changes lately and with the nice changes in GU28, I was thinking i could come with a suggestion.Wouldn't it be nice to have a "buy - back" tab on any Vendor?Ok I'm not a fan of WoW at all, but that game has a few features that are really nice... one is this Buy-back feature. This tab lists 12 of the latest items you have sold to the vendor, and if you regret selling anything you can buy it back for the same price. This list resets after you log but it still is a nice feature to have. Maybe something the developers can think about?Anyone agree?

Just recently at about 4 am, playing an all nighter, went to unload my loot at a vender and between where we were adventuring and the city merchant I changed to my characters dress armor and low and behold I sold the xegonite boots I had purchased much earlier that same day. If I had, had, this feature I could have simply bought them back and wouldn't have had to track down another piece of xegonite at 4 am and an armor that after some pestering was kind enough to make me the replacements for the boots. I would love to see this added, even as you say, after you log, the list goes away.

Calthine wrote:
You don't have all your gear marked "not for sale"???

You've got to access the merchant window at least once to mark it not for sale. I like this idea, and it should also allow you to sell back items you've just bought from a merchant for the same price you paid.

Yeah, I have already suggested this. I don't know about everyone, but sometimes server lag happens when you scroll to an item on under the "Sell" tab of the vendor and it ends up selling an item that..well..maybe you didn't wanna sell. (Trust me, it has happened to me when i was marking something "No sell"! I was mortified)Other MMOs on the market compensate this by adding a "Buy back" feature, much like the OP suggested.Sony..look into this..please?

i wouldnt mind if the merchants wants a higher price but the feature to buy back the last sold items would be great. And i am sure it could reduce a high amount of /petitions.

/agree with OP

So no, I didn't have them marked as no sale because I didn't go to a merchant till I was done adventuring.

Yes, there does, but I've clicked on one item and accidentally sold another due to lag, and the GMs don't reimburse for it. Besides, if you were really selling things, there'd be no way to accidentally sell the wrong item, and it wouldn't just vanish - you could buy it back from the merchant at the same price, or higher. There's absolutely no reason not to have this.

Well if the merchant wont give it back .....you should atleast be given the option to slug the merchant lol

With the double click to sell it is really easy to sell something you don't. I was trying to mark my trophy form my elemental legend and lore to no sell, when I did that. I clicked on the click box no change I again no change. Then, the lag spike got over and cha-ching it sold. And of course I could't get it back via petition. rEally pisse dme off to cause it isn't something I can go out and get another copy of via questing or hard work. I even told the CSR i would be willing to pay ten times the vendor asked for price to get it back, no dice. I've since then turned off the double click selling, but I have know of this happening to several other people. Even someone who was totally unsympathetic when it happened to me. He changed his tune.

Message Edited by Salmastryon on 09-21-2006 02:01 PM

What I'd like to know is, why can't you toggle the 'not for sale' thing without the vendor window?Might be something to consider adding to the right click menu for items.

I'm all for the buy-back tab!

I always try to be careful to mark my important items as "not for sale" but sometimes either lag gets in the way or I get carried away with the mouse and sell them accidentally. I've heard of a bug that sells an item while you are marking it as "not for sale." This buy-back feature would reduce a lot of the grief for us late night gamers playing while we're too sleepy to fully concentrate on what we're doing.

As the bank officer for my guild I can totally sympathise with those above who have lost items to the broker. I am perpetually nervous I am going to sell off some raid loot before I can get it marked as not for sale. A simple buy/back window of your current playing session sounds great, as does the being able to mark not for sale without access a potentially dangerous merchant window. A simple little check box on the examine window where you could mark as not for sale would be nice.

Sark.

An "Oops! Buy/sell back for the same price tab" is a good idea. I would have it function that way on any NPC window that you can sell to and have that option remain available as long as you have that NPCs sell window still open.I once sold an item to the NPC while marking it No Sell. My mouse wasn't anywhere close to the sell button at all. Swore a little, sucked it up, and went on my way. Another time, I stopped by the Shady Merchant on the Nek docks to see what price they had finally put on the Stein of Mogguk out of curiosity. Once again my mouse wasn't near the buy button but I did end up buying one. I don't mind having more than one of them, but I wouldn't have chosen to buy one for 80g that day.In both of those cases, a forgiving merchant screen would have been helpful. Now I am even more careful but the chances are something similar will happen again one day due to lag, bug, human error, etc.

Calthine wrote:
You don't have all your gear marked "not for sale"???

If a 'buy back' tab wouldn't be implemented, I'd at least love to see the option to mark items as 'not for sale' via the right-click drop down menu. Fairly recently I attempted to single-click an item in the merchant window to mark the 'not for sale' tab, though due to server lag it registered as a double-click and the legendary robe I was looking forward to wearing was gone to the merchant for 8 gold + some silver. Most people in my guild have similar stories where they'll hit the 'sell' button and two items on the list will sell rather than just the one highlighted when it's a heavy server load.

I don't know how hard this would be to implement, but I'd like to see options (from the option menu, far away from any buying and selling) where we can make entire categories of items default to "not for sale". The only things I ever sell to a vendor are things intended as vendor trash - the "looted treasure", armour and weapons with no stats, status items, and the bones and water for the plants since it doesn't sell. Everything else goes on the broker. If stuff then doesn't sell, I could then remove it from the broker, manually mark it as for sale, and dump it on the vendor.

/agree this would be great. There are very few things I miss from playing WoW, but this is one of them. I also miss the ability to share quests with group members, and the UI mod that allowed mass mailings to a single person (multiple items at once).

I would LOVE to see these things added!
