Hey thx for the noob help about the test server guys:smileywink:

1. If you play on test is one of your character slots from Live used?

2. Is there a good community on test?

3. How is the harvesting or do you even have to on test?

4. How hard are adepts and what not (other equipment) to come by?

Test sounds like fun just not sure if I want to use a character slot there or not.

1. No, you have 6 slots just for Test

2. Good. Much better than Live servers IMHO, probably due to the lower population.

3. Harvesting is the same as on Live, just a lot easier because of lower population.

4. Not so easy. It's more of a challenge here to get the items you need. The broker is not as populated. Asking on the Test channel often nets you what you need if it is available. People will help most of the time. I personally like that the stuff is harder to come by, makes everything you get mean that much more.

Sweet im going to see if my guild (Nakama) wants to jump on there like one night a week. We are super small guild like 20 accounts as of now. But we are preaty tight knit itd be cool to have us all start chars at the same time and just level together. I cant wait to give it a try see you soon.:smileywink:

Does anyone know, have they made mention of opening a server to test PVP? I'd be there in a hot minute if so. If not, I just love pvp too much to go there

No. I've never heard of a distinct pvp-test server. We don't need one. We don't have a suffcient population on test to see a lot of the issues that have shown up on the live PvP servers. Moreover, the people that do remain on test aren't looking for ways to grief each other, so we don't see those types of problems. In othe words, we just don't have the right mentality. Breaking the code and breaking the rules are two different things. Low population has pluses and minuses. But, for the alt-a-holic it's 6 more toons.

Another thing to note on the test server, as was mentioned earlier, is that with the lower population and closer knit community, alot of times adepts and such are more or less given away to those that can use them. We have a meet and greet once a month that allows you to clean out your bank of all those things that have been building up and GIVE them away to those that can and will use them.

It seems that with more and more ppl coming to the server, the broker system has grown alot, and there are more and more things on there everyday, but still nothing at all like you would find on a live server. I think the most pages I have found at one time was like 200 or so, with a good bit of that being harvested items and standard loots for sale. I myself usually have somewhere in the hundreds and hundreds of harvested items for sale at a mere 1 cp each. I, like many others dont really even want money for them, but we cant give them away on the broker and that is the best place to put them for all the crafters to have access to them.

It's not uncommon just to see someone say "Anyone got a need for this? <post link to adept or item here>" And if you do, just send em a tell and its usually on its way to ya in short order. Once again with the population growing, we are seeing less of this and more broker items, but still not something you normally see on a live server.

WTB, and WTS are hardly ever seen on the standard server chat as there is also a Test Trade channel, not many ppl in there, most will just save it up and hit the meet and greets with bags of goodies for trade or free.

You and your guild are most welcome to come over and see if the test server is something you like and fits into your persona of a friendly enviroment. The more the merrier, I say.

If you do, feel free to send an email or just introducing yourself to the server channel and that will be a good way to get started knowing ppl.

For those of you PVE heavy people the current one is just fine, I agree. Some of us, like myself who are from text MUD's (strict RP and open PVP) then DAOC, then WOW (bleh I hate WOW don't get me wrong) came to EQ2 ONLY once they opened PVP.We are not of the griefing variety, we are just PVP'ers which is a different style of play, albeit still a viable and fun one.So to randomly say 'we don't need it' just seems like you are assuming they think that. I'd like to hear a Dev's opinion on it, but doubt they will comment! In any case, not all PVP minded people are immature griefers. Some of us roleplay, we quest, we raid and we PVP because it adds yet another element of danger to the game for us. And testing PVP related issues on a PVE server is not sufficient, dueling is not PVP by the way. Thanks for your response,Faite of Venekor

Thanks Rastaah. I was trying to think of a better way to express my sentiments without getting too long winded. PvP has drawn many griefers which in turn have caused a lot of the "fixes" for PvP. Most of the PvPers are just trying to enjoy additional challenges. Test server doesn't draw the negative type, which is why I say we don't have the mentality to look for the same problems. What changes those negative types did not necessitate were pretty much produced by a large population or unbalanced faction populations. Also something we cannot reproduce in a test environment because of our low population.

As Cimee mentioned, make sure to join the server chat channel when you come over. It is Test (use /join Test).

There is also a Testtrade channel and a Testingonly channel. This is to help facilitate communication regardless if you are in Qeynos or Freeport.

I missed the meet and greet yesterday since I am still (!!!) on the road trying to get home, but will be at the next one. Some super people at the M&G and they give away a lot of stuff.

In a couple of nights I will be offering stuff on the channels since I had a bunch of things for the M&G I didn't get to pass along because of this trip and because I found out when it was too late to pass it to someone to do for me.
