Hi all, Haven't found this one so far. I can't play Test. Every time I select a character from the character selection screen and I try to log in to any zone, even with a newly created character, the client crashes to desktop. I have a friend here in Australia and he has exactly the same problem. Is this a know bug? As it stands, I can't play on Test at all.If any SOE tech guys wants more info please give a yell and I'll post as many error file contents as you want. Thanks, Palalthas.P.S.It's been this way for about 2 weeks.

Message Edited by Palathas on 08-26-2006 02:46 AM

From the sound of the post it seems like you are trying to log a character that you created on another server into test. You have to create the character on the test server to play on the test server.

First, make sure you've performed the copy-over of the client correctly. Then, ensure you are launching Test from the Test launcher. Thirdly, using the Test launcher, perform a Full File Scan to make sure you have the latest versions of all of the test files. Also, make sure that your optional download settings in the Test launcher match the content your account is enabled for.

I have this problem as well and by reverting to the default ui I can now get into the game.

Ok, to clear things up a little. I've played on Test for over 12 months and a couple of weeks ago it keeps crashing to desktop every time character tries to log in. Even after creating a new character on Test server, the client crashes.I've recopied all the files, I no longer have any custom UIs and it is correctly installed. I made sure all my drivers are up to date and have a clean slate for my uisetting files.

Have you tried deleting even the default UI and repatching it?

As the other poster mentioned go back to the default UI. Some files have changed on test that can cause havoc with UI mods atm. Myself I had to delete my inventory file from the mod that I use to stop the CTD on login.

GeneralChat
