Sign me in.

Some of these changes (proposed by players in some of the threads about the subject) and the feedback on guild raids and TS writs are begining to make me have faith in devs again.

I think it is neccesary to say when things are done in a wrong way, and that happened (should i say i am a troub? ), but it is also neccesary to say when things are done right, like this time.

Edit: spelling

Message Edited by Mulillla on 08-25-2006 10:43 AM

Yay! They listened! Now they just need to put back the newbie quests, stop the island from melting, and allow us to have pet gelatinous cubes for our homes. :smileyvery-happy:

Mostly good changes for sure but I don't really care for the no trading restriction between players. One of the things I liked about newbie isle was the trading of all the adept I's and harvest items for collections that would occur. Pity to punish the real people trying to test EQ2 with the Trial on this ability.

You can continue to collect them and transfer it when the character is moved to the full account. Curious, if as you say they are trying to test the game, why would they want to transfer these items to real game players, would they not wnat to utilize them on their own?

This change ranks in the top 20 of all time best modifications to the game list

Message Edited by Wingrider01 on 08-25-2006 07:50 AM

Wingrider01 wrote:Curious, if as you say they are trying to test the game, why would they want to transfer these items to real game players, would they not wnat to utilize them on their own?

No, since most of the items you can't use anyway or already have a stack of. Unlike in the "real" game, people on the isle regularly exchange equipment, spells (even masters) and collectibles for free. I still think it is a reasonable restriction, and I think it is too minor to dissuade real new players from not buying the game.

If you're only on the trial, honestly, you can do the entire thing relatively easily without even the quest reward armor and money (I did so on Test when quest rewards were broken and my only other Test character is on another account -and- very broke).

You can't run a business without customers, however, as long as there IS a business, there will be customers for this sort of thing. All MMO's expirence this, it's just the nature of this type of game. Complaining that SoE can't get rid of all the botters is about as silly as complaining that the police forces can't get rid of the drug dealers. As long as there is a game, people will find a way to do it. At least they continue to make efforts to get rid of them as they find them, and at the very least make their lives a little harder.

Still sticks though :smileysad:

Yes, these changes brought a heavy sigh of relief from me. I know people will find a way around, but I think we'll see a huge drop in the number of tells and spam mails. Losing a paid account is much more expensive than losing a free account. That price will be reflected in cost to customers which will decrease their customer base and allow legitimate sellers fair business practices.

Well-I think this update will definatly slow down the plat farmers trade-but wont slow down for long the ways they can send out their adds ect. I mean-I realize that they always used free trial accounts that couldn't be traced-but the fact remains that I think a few of the plat farmer companies actually cheat their plat making (a.k.a hacking the game like some guys did a month or 2 ago [glad they got caught tho]). And they have perfectly legit toons on-and they just add the plats to their account :smileysad:

But still-gotta give SoE their props on this--probably will get a good few months of freedom from their spam untill they manage another way unfortunatly (those [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn] plat farmers always seem to be coming back! :smileysad: )

Message Edited by Canel on 08-25-2006 10:27 PM

Most people don't even trade on the Islands, or you could just buy the items you need with your main and put them in your shared bank for your alts. You can also still trade with people who have regular accounts on the Islands still.
