I just wanted to say , that removing content/quests is really a horrible idea unless you replace them . If you found the starter zone quests not done well, you should have redone them to be done well, not just remove them.

Forgive me, that just seems the cheap way out. And now the towns lack the 'voices' of the quest givers. I used to enjoy hearing them jabber as I walked by, now its quiet and lackluster, lacking life.

As to any other quests, like Griffon towers, if indeed you plan to remove it? Why? Sure I want instant access but I find it UNIQUE and FUN about EQ2 that these sort of things exist. Maybe just make it a tad bit easier to find eggs or something. The fact you need to find eggs is cool and adds to immersion.

If I want lack of immersion, WOW IS over that way ------->

Please consider adding back some of the life you removed with the removal of the newb quests. It is not even about experience or items for me but for the world feeling alive and the NPC's talking and chatting etc. Not to mention those quests DID help with being a newb , the way it is now is NOT smoother, if anything it is bumpier. The old quests were awesome/cool.

I played WOW in its beta and onward and am on the beta list for their expansion. I have been in EQ2 since Feb. because a friend who worked at WOW wanted me to try it since I love more immersion. I loved it as do many people from WOW like me who were looking for something that was missing. If you keep removing elements of EQ2 that make it flavorful and special you will take away its heart.

You have already done that a bit by changing the crafting (im getting used to it now) and these quest changes are the worst thing I've ever seen done in any game, hands down....because it removed life and flavor without adding anything back in.

I hope you consider what I'm saying.....add back in at least SOME of them or make them make more sense ...but to remove them was just lazy, sorry

Edit: There have been several threads discussing this topic, and the feedback has been noted.

Message Edited by Moorgard on 08-01-2006 10:29 AM
