<DIV>Ok so Nek Castle is being made into another zone for Level 70 -- as if they didn't have enought already. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>My question is:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>1. Will it be an instance?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>2. If it is not an instance what will be the impact be on levels 20+/30+ trying to complete quests in Nek castle for their level and for Heritage quests -- Like Kill Lord Everling?</DIV>

The new one is a different instance of Nek Castle than either the 30ish or the 50ish zones. It has a different, though very nearby, entrance. It's also a serious 6-person level-70 good-gear zone (mobs are 69-71... in the first two rooms). It's not your standard slash 'n' burn; it requires strategy and thinking and some nice pulling (and two healers for most groups, those encounters hit hard) and on the whole it's some of the most fun I've had exploring a new zone in a long time.Don't worry. It's a nice addition to end-game gameplay and it will not adversely affect the level 30 and level 50 crowd in any way that I can think of.<div></div>
Hrm, does it require access like Nek: The Return did? Or will we just be able to zone into it. Also is there any lore to go with it that starts outside?

Seriously, the mobs there had health like epics even as heroics and dealing 3000 damage in a blink, death in 2 shots as being green to L60 tank. This stats was 3 months ago, and don't think it ever changed.<p>Message Edited by selch on <span class=date_text>07-28-2006</span> <span class=time_text>02:16 PM</span>

They're usually the ones with the best lore! <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />Though the one for Nek: The Return didn't have that much lore, it was a refreshing quest, seeing as it didn't involve any mindless killing <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />But give us more quests like the Cauldron Hollows access quest! I didn't do it before it was grey (when I could solo all of it), but oh, the lore!</div>

Not to sound like a party pooping [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn], but I SINCERELY hope that the loot is better in this instance compared to Nek: The Return, taking into account risk vs. reward. Just a few chances for legendary/masters would be enough.

<DIV>I would like it to be as hard as Nizara personally, but then again nizara cna be hard an frustrating for alto of people. Even my best runs clearign the entire zoen w me as a bruiser tankign i still died 2 times. The zoen can be buggy sometimes and mobs agro through floors walls. But i love the zone its a real challange and a sense of accomplishment coems when u defeat it. Its nto really that hard of a zone you jsut have to figure out the mobs wanderign paths and hoe to handle each named . I love nizara i love the loot. I hope Nek castle is just as good. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>they nerfed HOF way to much. I rember it requiring 2 healers. Now i jus twent in w 4 people. ranger bruiser zerk and mystic. the mystic did not even need to cure debilitate. Mobs dropped in liek 15 secs and we cleared the entire zoen w 4 people in under an hour w/o any deaths. They made HoF from a difficult zone to a casual zone i would say its more suited for people lvl 68 then 70 now. </DIV><p>Message Edited by Gungo on <span class=date_text>07-29-2006</span> <span class=time_text>10:16 AM</span>

I hear you can't do Nizara successfully without a chanter. I'm pretty sure you can do the new Nek without one (we haven't finished it yet, just forayed) but you do definitely have to pick your group, think about what you're doing and why, and be very careful how you go about it. Like any zone, the more you do it the easier it'll seem, but it should present a challenge at least the first couple of times you go in, based on what I've seen. <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />You aren't going to need people entirely in fabled or anything, but from my first impression, legendary gear and Adept III skills are probably your baseline.</div>

<DIV>Went in there today and cleared the place out. Drop rate seems to still be set at NEVER. We did get one steel chest though, it dropped off one of the trash dogs in the beginning. I think that was pretty much what used to happen before LU25, trash dropped steel and named dropped wood. The 10+ named mobs we killed dropped wood, except for the Bishop fella who dropped absolutely nothing.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Also the little key things you get off some of the mobs seem useless now. Is that a new mob or do people really ignore Nek50 that much?</DIV>

My friends and I went through as a 58illusionist, 58 inquis, and 62 fury (she tanked) which made the mobs all green tp us. It took some skill, but we got all the way to Lord Everling. We have since done it with a 58 assassin tanking for us. We got plenty of metal chests (no masters). The two golems at the begining were the roughest part. Luckily, there are only two of them in the zone. It was nice to have a bit of a challenge. <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /><div></div>

I went in with a trio @ 60 and we got all the way to everling. The hardest part were the golems at the beginning because of their massive hp, but we actually duo'd them (fury/dirge) before we called in a tank to make the rest of the zone go faster. Took us about 15 minutes per mob to duo em (snaring the mob and having it chase the dirge in circles while we uber-conserved power and he range auto-attacked it while i used a clicky wand to nuke) but we got em down... <div></div>
