lastnight I was working on the carpet quest and me and my group of 4 lvls 60 to 70 brig, nec, shadowknight, and fury got to the last part, the djinn. Ok here is my question, the djinn is a 56^^^ crasted heroic, not a epic. Isn' this supposed to be fore a single group of lvl 55 to 60s to take down with normal problems. My group went down like they were a bunch of nudists with wet noodles for weapons. A heroic that does 5600 dmg is insane. Either is under conned or the CC changes have really changed the playing field for this game. I have read that it takes 2 groups to finish this quest. What kinda thinking is that its a freaking heroic not a epic x2. Please correct me if I am wrong in my assumption that this encounter is supposed to be a single group encounter.

single group if you have crowd control. a couple different strategies will work, but cc is a must.

I did the bosses twice, in two different groups, with my warden, at around lv49. The others in the group ranged from lv47-57It all depends on group setup/knowledge of the encounter. That being said, it is a pretty tough encounter. =)We used a monk with Tsunami, and had 2 healers, made it much easier

I've done it several times, and if you don't have a good strategy, don't expect to succeed. Personally, I think there need to be more challenging encounters like him.The first time I did it, we had no one over 53 in our group. The key was to sacrifice someone so he would pop, no one else should engage. Once he dies, rez fast then have 2 casters root his pals at the same time, have everyone move down to the bottom of the rock and kill the dijinn. This method proves to be very useful as he is actually pretty weak, it is his pals that slaughter you. Once he dies, they die.I'm looking forward to the AP because there is supposedly a dungeon full of stuff built for 2 groups, but only one group can enter.

you are wrong. He actually was made easier. His adds which is the main source of damage use to be lvl 62. Control the adds and he is cake, keep ur resists up and have the majority of the group w/o high enuff resists away his aoe is tiny.

These fights are easy and a good way to learn to deal w different challenging encounters. If you fail look through your logs and see what hit you and ask your self why and how can i prevent most of this. It may require you to use a resist potion of change buffs. Just because you faield does not make the encounter to difficult. Many Many people have defeated this encounter on regular basis.

ok but really CC is a must I agree but the tank went down so fast the healer we had couldn't even heal him, none of anybodies procs went off, hell not one stun procced at all. the entire encounter took about 20 seconds. I am hoping to find a good illusionist or coercer tonight but they r very hard to find on the test server and even the beta buffed ones r hard to find. Oh for the person giving me a lecture on failing an encounter I know that and am doing just that, but really using 2 groups to finish this single group encounter shouldn't happen. I am going to look for a CCer and one other type of member but my opinion is still the same with a good group u should be able to do a single group encounter with the normal sort of problems. Oh and we tried it like 4x using different stratagies. Have you tried him on test at all so that you can see how your group fairs with the new type of gear and CA/spells. If not saying this is easy is probably true on the regular servers but on test its abit different. Thanks for the info from the people that gave some insight on this encounter.
Message Edited by pdqbach on 06-09-2006 11:46 AM
