Ok so t2 nodes are becoming trivial to harvest once you get a skill of 89. This keeping you from moving on to t3. I was told tonight that they know this is the reason i am just wondering the reason behind not fixing this right away. I know this is test and its buggy but if you want more people testing out the higher tier crafting You would think this would be fixed. They fixed being able to get a hold of crafting books but you could do that in a round about way through haven. Just a Q im not upset just excited to try out the higher tier stuff.

What adventure or tradeskill level are you? Your harvesting skill caps will be based on the highest of either of those. If you are less than level 18, your max skill will be less than 90.

Bug is confirmed, but there is a work around.

Examining a t2 node says

You need at least 20 Foresting skill to harvest the wind felled tree. You have 89 Foresting skill.

It is trivial for you to gather the wind felled tree.

No matter how much I try to harvest, won't go past 89. I'm a lvl 19 fury BTW. My skill max is 96 at the moment.

The work around? Go to tier 3. Double clicking or right clicking and choosing harvest both get a Not enough skill message, but try clicking the ability in your knowledge book. It lets you harvest, even without the proper skill level, and you can get skillups too. I'm sure this is a bug, but it works for now. (Thanks to Settie for figuring this out).

Do many noobs play on test? I don't think many hang out there honestly!!!

And i'm sure they will not bann us for using an exploit to advance our harvesting skills.. it is test after all. :p

Message Edited by Inchidar on 05-25-2006 10:35 PM

I'm a noob. I play on test.

As far as the 'exploit' ... in several dozen attempts, I didn't succeed at harvesting anything t3 with any of my under 90 skills. Using this to get around the 89 skill cap is hardly game breaking, and I'm sure they'll fix both as they seem to be related issues.

Icky workaround that could become an exploit. Like when it was possible to harvest from -any- distance if you used the skills directly from your book (or hotbar).

I'm sure it got added to someone's to-do list, just not as a do-it-now item. Pointy-haired bosses are common for sure, let's hope SoE doesn't have too many of them. There's a schedule to make here!

:smileyvery-happy:

They are at the x7 lvl's, starting with T3 (lvl 27). T3's tool reduces casting time on harvesting by 0.5 secs. The reduction goes up 0.5 sec per tier. They are charm slot, from inventory usable. You can have all the buffs on at the same time but, must leave the tools in your inventory. Buffs stay 'til you die or remove tools from inventory. Not cancelable.
Message Edited by Howlingmoon on 05-26-2006 10:27 AM

Woodworkers?Weaponsmiths to the back pls...you will not make anything seelable post T6, remember. I'd like to see these harvesting tools made by 2 classes perhaps. Weaponsmiths need something to stay viable.Moose

Do you know what Carpenters get ? Strong boxes, patch kit (costs too much, not worth it), and furniture. There are far more raiders than there are people interest in furniture from my experience.
