<DIV>I spent the entire day levelling a character up to 10 in tradeskill, I had another character in Haven so I could buy my outfitter essentials books, went to talk to Mr Ironforge in Qeynos Harbor, told him I wanted to be an outfitter, went to scribe my level 10 outfitter book and it said I lacked the skill to do so... So, off I go to make one more item thinking it needed to be done to let the system know I was now an outfitter not an artisan. Made the item and it still wouldnt let me scribe my outfitter 10 book. Hit P, and I"m a Craftsman!:smileysurprised: Well I scroll my chat window up  little and sure enough I "DID" tell him outfitter but it made me an Craftsman. Mentioned it in in the test chat channel and learned someone else had it happen too. So I /bugged it and even sent in a pettition in case a GM could help me fix it, spent 2 hours waiting and none approached me so I logged off, all the time I spent specifically trying to test out the new weapon recipes came screaching to a halt.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Now, will this character get his tradeskill class set to the one I picked?</DIV>

<DIV>this just happened to me as well.  I selected Scholar but it made me a Craftsman. Grrrrrr</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>im a qeynos toon and was speaking to Alfred Ironforge.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I did try sending a petition but i just got the cookie cutter "Class choice is final rubish" /sigh.  i guess i will have to delete the toon and recreate it.</DIV><p>Message Edited by Liandra on <span class=date_text>05-19-2006</span> <span class=time_text>11:21 AM</span>

<font color="#E2BD01">Wonder if it has anything to do with them still being in the process of revamping tradeskills ? They had a similar problem in KoS Beta that made everyone a Carpenter when they used the beta buff char to get tradeskill lvl's.

Aye, I remember that, was annoying. Eventually they fixed it.<div></div>

<P>I've got a good one! I was just in the ts instance making the new recipes with my outfitter/tailor to be. I dinged 20 and... I'm an armorer? I've never even spoken to the woman that gives you your lvl 20 TS profession.</P> <P> </P> <P>Odd coincedence though that I have an armorer on the live servers that has the same name as my test character =(.</P> <P> </P>

I had the exact same thing happen, I was auto-set to Craftsman, when I had planned to go Alchemist.  Response I got both on these boards and from GM's was there was no solution <img src="/smilies/9d71f0541cff0a302a0309c5079e8dee.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />  So now I'm a woodworker.<div></div>

I had this happen to me before on a Live server. I wanted to become an Armorer and somehow, because of stupid quest bugs, wound up becoming a Sage. I finally got fed up with unhelpful CSR responses on my petitions about this and deleted the character. They need to get rid of the stupid archetype/class BS for artisans, same as they did for adventurers.
